Okay, so here is what I want to do:
I want everyone that can or wants to participate to take a photo of a west pointing view of the sky. If you're a portrait photographer, put a person in it, if you're a macro photographer, put a bug in it and blur the sky, whatever type of photographer you are, take a picture of a west pointing view of the sky.
That all seems simple enough right? Well here is the kicker... Everyone must take their photo on Feb. 28th (Sunday) at 2:07pm (PST). So if you're in NY, take it at 5:07pm you're time, if you're in Alaska, take it at 1:07pm, etc...etc...etc...
The only rule is that the photo you submit MUST be taken at 2:07pm PST.
I want to see everyone's photo. I want to see how people interpret and capture the same thing differently around the world.
Speak your minds! Share your thoughts, or leave it as a surprise. It's up to you.
I hope everyone has some fun with this. I think the results will be interesting.

Bit of a problem for me--that´s 11:07 PM here.
Good point. Okay, let's change this then to a West pointing view of the sky. I'll change the main post, so it's official. Same time, but instead of the sun, just a west pointing view of the sky.
How is that?

Awesome. Sounds good. I'm surprised more people haven't chimed in. I thought this was a pretty sweet little idea I had. Hmmm... Thanks for playing!

Excellent. I set a reminder in my phone, because even though it's my experiment, I have the WORST memory for a 25 year old... Good luck! I hope to see your results...

Any rules about objects or people not being in it?
Nope, anything you want to be in the shot can be in it. Only rules are you gotta be facing west. it has to be of the sky. it has to be on the 28th. and at 2:07pm. That's it. have fun with it. Can't wait to see what ya make.

My Site, My Book
Are you looking for how the sun is in the sky in different places at that time?
www.Dogdotsphotography.com
Anything to break the monotony of this horribly depressing winter. I NEED SUN!
I had an idea today while driving. I wonder how hard it would be to get an unaltered photograph that had a motor vehicle of any kind, airplane, boat and train in it all at the same time and in use.
If it's cloudy, take a picture of the clouds. If it's a starless black night sky, put something light in front of it to separate it from the foreground. What ever the condition, whatever the foreground subject matter (if any). Take a photo looking west of the sky.
I'm basically looking for people's interpretations. How different people (boy/girl - US/Foriegn - older/younger) see and interpret the same thing.
