WCC #11 "Roads, Tracks and Trails"

mmmattmmmatt Registered Users Posts: 1,347 Major grins
edited August 1, 2010 in Weddings
Just like it sounds folks!! Looking for shots incorporating roads, railroad/subway tracks, or trails/paths.

I'll be looking for shots where the road, track or trail adds to or compliments the image. It can be wedding day, e-session, TTD, details, or anything wedding related as long as it fits with the title! Uptown, downtown, country, abandoned, busy, under, over, or whatever. This should be a great opportunity for everyone to post an entry and an even greater opportunity to see how we all find creative ways to shoot this bread and butter concept!

Please look over the rules here and for this contest you can only post 1 entry please.

That's it! Game on!!!

Apparently I use them a lot... I had such a hard time choosing.

Now I have decided to swap it out for this one from last weekend at Kodiak Island.

Changed my mind and deleted the previous photo above. This one is a bit more about the path- it's from an e-session a while back.306243163_wGaPx-L-8.jpg

David, if you EVER need a second shooter, I'd DIE to shoot a wedding on a mountain. I was engaged on one of the 4K Footers, but my DH nixed the idea of getting married there. Should have done Washington. Darnit! iloveyou.gif

They were a great group - all military types and left us for dead on the hike!

The ceremony was going to be on the summit at sunrise. Usual Mt. Washington weather so used the little TipTop building instead.

I'd love to say we do weddings like that all the time, of course in real life we've not been back since!

I posted some wedding images way back when: http://www.dgrin.com/showthread.php?t=107108

I am going to bend the rules a bit. The 1st one is my shot from an E session walking the paths of a vineyard in Temecula CA

    Swept Away

    567767404_sSGua-L.jpg

The second I wish I could take credit for shooting but I am submitting it on behalf of my second shooter from the day Jennifer Owens (Don't know if she is a dgrinner or not)

    Stopping Traffic

    677372497_bSVzS-L-1.jpg

So please forgive me, but it is one of my favorite shots and I could not let this particular theme pass without submitting it on her behalf:

I looked back over the past TWO YEARS of wedding images, and I honestly don't have much of ANYTHING involving paths, roads or RR tracks. Interesting; something I'll certainly look to change in the near future...

Here's the only one I could come up with. Bride and groom going around the corner right after the ceremony. ;-)

Looks like a trail to me Matt! and yeah... that is one thing that is awesome about this contest is that it really makes you think about shots or styles that you don't often shoot. I know I am thinking about current and previous contest topics when I am out shooting and I'm sure others do as well. Good way to grow and keep the fresh ideas coming IMHO.

Really nice seeing some new blood around here this month!!!! Kickin' it up a notch! Woot! Lets get some more posted!!!
