I am having trouble. I can get the slideshow to work on an iPad inside the Homepage tab of the control panel. It displays beautifully. However, when I go to my actual homepage... Nothing. When I go back into the homepage tab, I have to re-select my featured gallery. It's like I'm missing a save button somewhere. Any guidance?

    Thanks! Beth Singley

Beth, it does not yet work with the embedded slideshow like you have in your biobox. It only works with the Homepage Slideshow Box and gallery style slideshows.

Because not all mobile browsers are html5-compliant. Just a guess....

Solution could include adding more features to built in slideshow
maybe add options for things like
min/max values for height and width
    stretchy button
    etc.

It looks like the built in slideshow is already stretchy to some degree. I added:

    #homepageSlideshow {margin:0 auto; max-width:1023px; }

to eliminate the black background behind the slideshow and notice that it seems to stretch a small degree already - at least in width.

Okay, so here's the $64,000 question. I'm code illiterate. Are there instructions for removing the imbedd-ness of my slideshow so I can switch to your snazzy new built in one? Personally, if I start deleting sections of code, I'll screw up quite a bit in a very short time.

In your case, it's very easy. REMOVE all the stuff in your bio. COPY & Paste it to a text document and save it :D

Then use the homepage layout button>Slideshow, and go to town.

On your homepage, go to the homepage layout button and uncheck your bio and check the slideshow. Then click on the slideshow settings link that will show up to configure the built-in slideshow.

OK so I just got back from the Apple store (packed - had to wait in line to use an iPad!!)
much to my chagrin my homepage was blank (NO slideshow) same as it has been since iPhone/iPad came out... :cry

I checked mark westons (original poster of this thread) homepage - yes his slideshow is working fine (http://markweston.com) rolleyes1.gif

So from my very limited technical viewpoint - the HTML5 Slideshow feature is only working on the 'new easy set-up' homepage slideshow - NOT the flash version I've been using...(since way before the new easy customization features came online) deal.gif

So the $$64,000 question is ...what do I have to do to replace my SS with a version that WILL render on iPhone/iPad??? ne_nau.gif

    Please help!!

Your slideshow seems to be operating as designed. On my screen, the slideshow images are as large as they can be without causing scrolling (they bump up against the top and bottom of the slideshow area). Your large header steals a lot of space on screen from your image display. Note: the slideshow will always look best with landscape oriented images because they fit into the slideshow area better and thus will be presented at a larger size.

The bgColor parameter is described along with all the other slideshow parameters here.

I just noticed the fullscreen slideshow link from "share a link" does not work
on the iPhone. Perhaps a link could be added that would work using the
    HTML5 code.

Example under each post on my blog.

Click this line for fullscreen slideshow
    using this link

Small border added to better define image on the site background. Could be a FF issue. headscratch.gif Thanks for checking Andy.

    YPrincess,

At this time, we are not supporting all of the features of the Flash slideshow.

But don't worry, we're working on it!

    Background invisible?
Is there code yet for making the BG invisible within the slide show box? And removing any borders on the box as well? I would like to see through the box to the background I already have set up. This way I can use PNG images showing a drop shadow so it looks like the image is floating over my BG.

Very cool upgrade by the way.

No HTML5 Support yet on the Droid, and no flash till Froyo comes out, is what I'm told.

Andy, my homepage slideshow is working fine on my Droid with Dolphin Browser. I had to change the user agent to iPhone in the settings, so it'll fake it. But apparently HTML5 is supported by the Droid. So I recommend adding this automatic switch from flash to html5 for andoid devices as well.

The gallery slideshows still tell me I need Adobe Flash for some reason.

When Froyo is released, I assume I'll prefer flash on the droid, so maybe this could be an option or temporary change.

    Hi All

Just found out my shizam slideshow no longer works, have switched to the slideshow option and hiden by bio box which shizam is in, on my slideshow before I had the following settings with the view height 300 and width 750 but with the photo size 500 x 1200 so that specific areas appear in the viewer (I know I could crop and resize all the images). Is it possible to do this with the new slideshow viewer.

    thanks

    Hello!

    A tricky situation!

On my website http://www.horsian.com/index.php horses (stolen, missing etc.) are posted with photos. The photos of these horses are currently also stored in this SmugMug gallery http://horsian.smugmug.com/Horse-Search/Horsian/13214195_DQfsi#959677706_ArbvT.

I have shared the http://smugshowbuilder.appspot.com/ code for embedding the slideshow of above gallery with various admins, that are so kind helping the owners of the stolen, missing etc. horses by displaying the slideshow. For detailed information and links to the other websites please have a look here: http://www.horsian.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=blogsection&id=7&Itemid=139&limit=6&limitstart=0

Unfortunately, I am receiving more and more e-mails saying that this does not work on the MAC/iPhone. Of course.

But what can I answer? Any chance that http://www.smugmug.com/ria/ShizamSlides-2007090601.swf can be enhanced?

The admins are also wondering, because we used this slideshow previously http://www.slide.com/r/QBkiHZ0Hmj9LEphpTYDhWuqSP3lsqCC5?previous_view=lt_embedded_url and that seemed to have displayed fine.

Any suggestions are very much appreciated!

Thank you very much in advance!

    Petra

Yeah I too would like to know how to make the BG white (transparent) so that only my photos show up on the page. My earlier slideshow just had my photos showing on the white background. Now there seems to be a box (grey) around my photos. How do I remove that?

    Thanks guys. :D
