Mini-Challenge 107: Autumnal Colors

Sorry for the delay, folks! Turned out to be a very difficult weekend.
I'm going to do my best to set this up correctly...if I don't, someone feel free to step in and correct it!
The Mini-Challenge 107 will be Autumnal Colors!
The contest begins NOW and runs until October 15 at 7 p.m. Pacific time. Rules and tips can be found here.
I mentioned to someone on dgrin last week that I've missed the brilliant colors of autumn that I experienced during my childhood...the brilliant reds of the sugar maples, the yellows of the oaks and birches, the burnt oranges and russet browns which dressed the trees of my neighborhood. So I'd like to see a lot of pictures that feature, prominently, the colors of autumn.
Here's the kicker: The pictures DO NOT have to feature leaves and trees (although they certainly may). As I look through my own photos I find that I am drawn to the saturated colors of autumn, but my subject is rarely a tree. So you are welcome to post anything that screams autumn color even if the subject is not something we normally associate with fall.
Fill my world with color! And...have fun!
Here are some examples to get you going (and I'm not even going to post a tree shot...I'm sure you can do that for me!):
Oh...and one leaf:

This was taken with a Canon Rebel Xsi and the 70-200 f/4 L lens to produce that beautiful bokeh C&C is always appreciated.

1. From an area pumpkin patch last year.
2. My cosmos do bloom in the Spring, but they really take off in the Fall growing as high as the eaves of my roof (except aphids got them this year, doggone it). I also get butterflies visiting this time of year as they migrate further south.
3. I do have one tree in my yard whose leaves turned yellow last year.

Sherry, your cosmos would just fine even if it were a spring bloom, of course. What I'm after is the colors of autumn, not necessarily the things of autumn. So that bright orange flower more than fits the bill!
So bring on the oranges, reds, yellows, and golden browns, no matter the setting, season or subject!
Have fun!

3.Old trawler in Early Autumn grave...
This big gem is found off the Old Glen just North of Eagle River. We would have missed it if we were not looking for it. Kinda easy to miss with all the trees. Not sure how it got there. No where near water!

Those of us that live in a place where the leaves (sadly) don't change in the fall appreciate the 'autumnal COLORS' theme
Spread the love! Go comment on something!

Try looking on this page... http://www.dgrin.com/showthread.php?t=168929 and scrolling down the page for the "OUR UN-OFFICIAL GENERAL RULES". That should give you the info you need. If not, let us know, someone better than me can probably explain it.

OK...this is a first for me, so here's hoping that this is how it is 'supposed' to be done!?
Yes...I, too, love Fall with the glorious colors, changes in weather, fun events and just the fact of the beginning of a new & beautiful season!

In the Desaturated photo I removed the colors in the green channel, this made the fall colors show more in black and white, a pleasant surprise for me.

karlabbott--just beautiful--I really love this shot
davev--love the coyote, but those geese...wow!
richtersl--love the colors in the farm scene
JAG--what a view off your back porch (I'm envious!), but that pond shot is gorgeous!!
MarkR--love the light coming through in "Ghostly Figures"
nyarthlopic--interesting perspective in the tree shots, but I love the simplicity of the red leaf
kinkajou--I really like the leaves against the blue sky in "4 trees"
sunflowerstudio--Beautiful scene in the first pic, but I love how the colors pop in the second one. That one rocks!
dnie--that first one of yours with the water over the rocks is so pretty & peaceful. Love it! I also really like your second one also.
LadyKate--all three beautiful shots. I'm not sure which one I like best. The first one is simply beautiful; I love the light & mood in the second one, and I love the bright red on the tree in the third one. envious again!
Snowgirl--I love your first pic. The reds just pop. Love the reflection in the second one, too.
pupweb--your shot makes me wish I was on that boat
dlscott--3 beautiful shots--but that third one is my favorite (if it's possible to pick just one). I love that waterfall with the golden leaves next to it.
Have I already mentioned how much I am enjoying these images??? I keep coming back to this thread just to look some more.
