Thanks again, guys. It was an exhilarating experience, especially in the very vertical sections of the route. Nevertheless, I just can't imagine doing this without my camera, no matter how vertical it gets.
Ana I don't know what to say! I am so jealous and that looks like so much fun. I wanted to know about the cable too, if you were climbing-climbing (the way our infamous Alaskan Duo does it) or if that bar with pegs is kind of a semi-permanent "trail" for adventurous travelers. If so, I would totally do that!
Thank you so much for sharing your journey. What an incredible trip! (And that whole route only took a day?)
Thanks, Steph. No, I wasn't climbing the way John and Kelsey do. And yes, the whole route took about 5 hours to the top, and then another 3 for the descent. The trail is marked and secured with permanent steel cables and pegs to help you climb. Obviously you have to be reasonably fit and shouldn't suffer from vertigo, and if you find it necessary or helpful, you can clip yourself to the steel cable to be safer. Slovenian mountains are full of trails like that (via ferrata), so maybe after Ukraine you should consider visiting Slovenia.

Heheh sorry I had realized that as soon as I posted my reply you had just posted yours. Via ferratas sounds very cool and next time I'm in Europe I would love to kick it up a notch on those. I keep reading that due to the way Americans are lawsuit crazy, they're not very popular here.
I definitely would love to visit Slovenia someday. It was on the list when we were planning our route to Ukraine, since there was no real fast way to get from Germany to Ukraine, other than plane. We ended up going through Austria and Hungary but our other proposals were more roundabout ways, including Slovenia. I'll definitely let you know when we're back.

Absolutely terrific work. clap
It makes me embarrassed about the sedentary lifestyle that I have now. I need to goad myself back into a mind-set, and physical condition, necessary to take on climbs of this nature.
Thanks for the inspiration,
Tom
I always wanted to lie naked on a bearskin rug in front of a fireplace. Cracker Barrel didn't take kindly to it.
