Last year I started a thread for photogs to post their top ten photos of the year. With 2010 coming quickly to an end, I thought I'd start a similar thread this year. Moderators please feel free to turn this thread into a sticky, and I encourage everyone to take a look back at their photographic journeys this year, and share your best work. So here goes…
Honorable Mention
"Canyon Gold"
Golden light reflected off the Virgin River and Sandstone Cliffs during autumn in Zion National Park.
"Forces of Nature"
The setting sun reflected onto a unique location on Oregon's northern coast, where a waterfall flows off a small cliff into the incoming tides of the Pacific Ocean.
"After the Rain, Elowah Falls"
Elowah Falls after a heavy rain in Oregon's Columbia Gorge.
"Follow the Light"
A hoodoo glows in southwest Utah as the rising sun casts a warm light on the sandstone below.
And the Top Ten...
Number 10 - "Illumination"
Wild lupines backlit by the setting sun in the McCall Nature Preserve, Oregon.
Number 9 - "Sandstone Cascades"
A cascade over sandstone in the wilderness of Zion National Park.
Number 8 - "Trilogy"
Soft light and lush greens complement this cascade through Oregon's Columbia Gorge.
Number 7 - "Blue and Gold"
Soft light from the rising sun imparts a golden glow to the rocky Atlantic coast.
Number 6 - "Emerald Flow"
Silky flow through lush foliage and mossy greens deep in the heart of the Columbia Gorge.
Number 5 - "Redemption"
The afterglow of the setting sun illuminates the Colorado River under Toroweap, a remote location in the Grand Canyon.
Number 4 - "Subway Swirls"
A long exposure of fall leaves swirling around the emerald pools in the Subway.
Number 3 - "Of Trees and Light"
The Virgin River cuts through deep sandstone, complemented by golden light and colorful foliage.
Number 2 - "Spectrum of Light"
Reflected light creates rich color and deep hues to the winding sandstone in a remote slot canyon of Arizona.
Number 1 - "Grand Dawn"
A spectacular display of light frames the Court of the Patriarchs, photographed from the shore of the Virgin River in Zion National Park.
Thanks for looking! Look forward to everyone's posts.

The Zion waterfalls, Subway, and Toroweap are my favorite of this excellent series.

Unfortunately it seems like I'll be a bit of a copycat since many of my favorite images are from some of the same places you shot this year (we were likely in Zion at the same time). I've also thrown in a couple wildlife shots...don't know how appropriate they are for this board but they're among my favorites!
In no particular order...
#10
Beautiful waves of color and texture at the Wave in the remote wilderness of northern Arizona
#9
The bizarre glowing hoodoos of Bryce Canyon at sunrise
#8
A humpback whale lifts its fluke as it prepares to dive in front of the Chugach Mountains of southern Alaska
#7
Long before sunrise at the Towers of the Virgin, Zion National Park. The faint glow of sunrise provides just enough light to set the sandstone cliffs ablaze under a starry sky.
#6
A brown bear awaits a leaping salmon in Katmai National Park
#5
A phenomenal display of colors and textures from reflected light on sandstone walls within Lower Antelope Canyon
#4
Jagged spires of the Aialik glacier in Kenai Fjords National Park
#3
Classic view of the Subway, Zion National Park. While certainly not an original image by any means, this image holds a special place for me due mainly to the amount of work just getting to this location.
#2
Warm reflected light contrasts with cool blue at a bend in the Narrows, Zion National Park
#1
Sunrise sets fire to the underside of Mesa Arch, Canyonlands National Park

I think I had a pretty decent year. A couple of good storm chases and two trips to Colorado have given me plenty of editting work to do. Click on any of the links to see a larger version. Also, I would love any "Like" clicks if you enjoy the image.
#10
Taken in Rocky Mountain National Park along the Trail Ridge Road (13,000 ft).

#8
Carbondale Valley, just North of Aspen Colorado. Shot in Infrared.
#7
Turret Arch shot through the North Window, Arches National Park
#6
Supercell Thunderstorm shot in Western Oklahoma.
#5
Dieing thunderstorm shot just outside of Rocky Mountain National Park.
#4
Incredible sunset shot in Estes Park, Colorado.

Honorable Mention - got me first place for the Scott Kelby Worldwide photowalk - Boston
1 - Boston from Fan Pier. Shot during the Photowalk and served as a first push towards using HDR more this year
2 - Nubble in July. I love Nubble Light in Cape Neddick, Maine. They turn on the lights there twice each year - once in the Summer and again Christmas. This was taken under the warmer conditions.
3 - Early morning in Vermont. Got a chance for a foliage road trip and got lost on the way. Found this pond by mistake and was thrilled to have the soft morning mist rise up among the changing leaves
4 - Nubble under the stars. Shot this on what should have been the first night of lighting the Nubble at Christmas. Lights never came on and everyone left. It was then that I noticed the stars....
This was the year that I began a photo blog designed to force me to learn more about my new town. We have been in Marblehead, MA for almost 3 years but I had barely touched it photographically. That is all changing now.
5 - The Fourth
6 - Foggy Morning over Salem Harbor
7 - The Marshland Sunrise
8 - Sailing Under the Harvest Moon. Last regatta of the season.
9 - Ducks Crossing at Redd's Pond
10 - State Street Sunset
