Best of 2010

Hi everyone! Rumors of my untimely demise have been greatly exaggerated. I've been here but just haven't been shooting as much as I would like due to real life imposing itself. I'm going to try to do better in 2011. The past few years someone has started a thead of everyones best shots of the past year here in this forum. I've been waiting for someone else to do it again this year, but I guess I'll do it.

I didn't shoot as much as I would have liked but am pretty happy with most of them. Here are my Best of 2010.

    I think I may have started it last year, and it has crossed my mind to do it again, just haven't taken the time to get mine put together yet....glad you decided to start it! You know I've always been a fan of your work, and this is no exception! Awesome Best of 2010clap.gif

    Terrific stuff Kevin!!! Wonderful quality.
    We thought along the same lines. I think everyone should do a 'best of... ' I did a yearly this year, but also have a gallery that I dedicate to Gordon Smith, because I first saw it done by him. It's a posting of the best pix you took that month. called 'Flavor of the Month'. I'm pretty wordy (in text lol) so I love to describe the shot and some of the elements in taking and processing the image. I'd love to see others do the same. I know I really like reading the 'backstory' of an image...

    Beautiful stuff this past year. I look forward to seeing more.

    Froch, this is a great concept! You should post a link to your 'Flavor or the Month', for easier viewing, you have some beautiful shots, and I enjoy reading the story behind the shots...nice work!

    ... well I can say that I enjoyed your whole gallery which has as a common traits:
    great composition, lighting and processing - it is also not a minor thing to mention the deep feelings
    that you captured in most of your photos. You have quite a talent!

    Thank you so much "red_zone" - I was very fortunate to be able to travel, and take a lot of photos.

    I have greatly enjoyed seeing the 2010 Bests shared on this thread! I too have a gallery of 2010 favorites, which is easy for me to link to because I've kept a running tally all year: http://sweet-harmony-photography.smugmug.com/Highlights/Personal-Picks-2010/11605702_vsBGU#P-1-12. They're not all my best, but they are the ones that give me the most pleasure (such an indulgence, I know!)
    I too hope that more people join in and share their galleries as well!

    You've got a great slideshow - I really love the B&W of the Guggenheim Bilboa.

    Sweetharmony - there are a lot of really lovely photos - I'm going to have to spend some more time looking through them all, but I really love the second one:

    I'm in LosAngeles, so the architectural frames you see are of the Getty and also of the Walt Disney Music Hall. Two very beautiful, and VERY easy subjects. I go to both often when I find myself in a creative funk.....like now... Laughing.gif.

    Thanks, Froch! And Red-zone, I have to stop myself from taking too many pseudo-abstracts of dead plants....I'm a bit in love with the forms and always find decay interesting. Now, I'm off to look at Sean's link....

    This is the first time I've ever participated. Interestingly enough, when I went back through my shots, I learned a few things:

    1. I shot more in 2010 than in 2009... I want to shoot even more this year!!
    2. I had more "decent" shots than I gave myself credit for during the year
    3. My photography is improving!
    4. I want more glass!!!

    Well, I'm pretty new here and may be way outta my league with an attempt at Best of 2010, but I'm gonna barge in anyway.

    The links already posted are inspiring and overwhelming. I'll follow-up with some more specific comments on what's catching my eye.

    In the meantime, here's my smugmug gallery with some random shots from2010 that I've grown fond of for a bunch of different reasons.
