These latest postings are certainly a continuation of enlightened creativity....along with excellent PP skills. The fact that they've drifted into an art form that I'm no longer so attracted to is of no consequence. Others will still applaud your works, and very rightly so. You've brought a new dimension to the forum for our contemplation and enjoyment and that's always a good thing.

Richard, Tom, Bill, & Sara (et all), thanks for your heartfelt appreciation of my work. It was an intensely personal project and delves deeply into darker emotions that I believe are a universal feeling that most of us avoid. I could rattle on about what the images represent to me but at this point I am more interested in what effect or response others have from these images beyond their technical merits and process. Yes, they are a bit like a scary movie. How do they stir you?
I have more images that were shot on 2 1/4 film that I need to find a scanner for. So it might be a while before I post new images.
A truly fascinating ride you've taken us on... Brilliant work.
Not to be irreverent, or to even publicly admit I watch such (hilarious) trash, but coincidentally, 2 1/2 Men has a mannequin theme going on right now. His name is Manny.
a very creative series indeed !! refreshing !! I really like what you did in that first image !! Love the b&w conversion, the mannequins POP off that scenery there,, very cool
While researching about Mannequins and their use in art, I came across this article (excerpt and link below). Who would think that someone would put so much thought into this subject! Intriguing to say the least.
"The uncanny valley is a hypothesis regarding the field of robotics.[1] The theory holds that when robots and other facsimiles of humans look and act almost like actual humans, it causes a response of revulsion among human observers. The "valley" in question is a dip in a proposed graph of the positivity of human reaction as a function of a robot's lifelikeness.
The term was coined by roboticist Masahiro Mori as Bukimi no Tani Genshō (不気味の谷現象) in 1970, and has been linked to Ernst Jentsch's concept of "the uncanny" identified in a 1906 essay, "On the Psychology of the Uncanny".[2] Jentsch's conception is famously elaborated upon by Sigmund Freud in a 1919 essay titled "The Uncanny" ("Das Unheimliche").[3] A similar problem exists in realistic 3D computer animation.[4][5]"

Question: can a regular flatbed scanner scan negative film? (that is more a reflective process...correct?)
