Usability 101
Don't hate on number of clicks per se...hate on "blind" clicks. If the user feels clear and confident about what they are clicking on, and that matches what they discover after the click, it doesn't expend any mental energy or goodwill.
It's the vague, mis-leading, confusing decisions a user has to make to get to what they want that truly lead to "click fatigue".
