I received it. I was on vacation. Tessa. I need your address. I haven't had a chance to look it over, but I will do so tonight.
Hey, TOOTH....hope you had an awesome vacation.
I'm ~not~ trying to cut-in line or anything...and yes, I am eager...what I'd like to politely say is that a ~lot~ can happen while waiting a ~week?~ for a reply from TessaHD...let's give her, like, I dunno, 30 seconds? lol.
I'll do the Vulcan Mind-Meld thing on it and promise a 1 day turn-around once I get it.
Copied here for the convenience of all:

Standing-by,
OK....tired of standing-by...I'm going to be "sitting-by" for a while.
I am...(thanx, Mr)...like, I'm thinking...so the post offices close out there on Saturday? sheesh...but I won't say that because I do not pretend to even have a glimpse of what my be going on in your lives...I won't say that I could write a book before I get to see it...that might be misunderstood...I can't offer to help because well, what can I do?...I'll just keep checking here I guess.
BTW - does anyone want to know anything about this camera? It is a fun toy to use while I wait for and dream of a D2X. I like what I am getting with the "S" burst mode and am wondering what I might pick-up at a garage sale the would generate an IR beam bigger than the mini-light the 828 has...
It really is a fun toy.
Thankful that I am alive (just escaped from 10 days in the the hospital for a "PE" - I beat the 50/50 odds....the Angel of Death left me behind)
Wow...looks like they got you
drcarl,
Looks like you got the works. You mentioned an illuminator - I made one that fits into my hot shoe and works pretty well. I had an event I was shooting with VERY low light and no noise from my camera (love that silent F717 shutter) and got some pretty good shots in nightshot mode with the illuminator. You can put one together for less than $100. If you are interested in details and handy with making stuff, you can pm me with your email and I'll show you how to do it.
It's June!
While waiting for The Book, I attended a birthday party yesterday. There were these rather large birds that seemed to have a thing for fish.
I wish I didn't feel so clumsy with this 828...I know a DX2 will serve me better.
I'll be out there tomorrow but Wednesday I have to fly around the country on an airplane...I just hope they get me back in town to watch my hockey team seal the deal on the Stanley Cup!
The eBook has left the building!
According to the nice man behind the counter at the USPS office, the eBook should arrive at Dr. Carl's abode near the sound on Monday.
I'll have to find someone to pull my leg since you'll be occupied!
I was looking back through the thread, admittedly difficult when first awakening, and wonder if "TessaHD" ever resurfaced long enough to get to see the book. Anyone know?
I'm looking at who's next...
I imagine it this way:
TessaHD - possible Andy - as he wishes (he started this) Standby - for any future posters on this thead
At least the last option would give me something to do each day - lol.
Nice Flower
Hey, Dr. Carl - its funny the pic you attached - I just got done taking pics of the same type of lily in my back yard the other day...when I first saw your pic I wondered if I had sent you my set because it looks almost the same as one of the pics I took.
Got It!
The e-book (which may more like a e-treasure chest) arrrived ysterday.
Wow. Thank you everyone in the chain.
Mike: As I have been, I bet you have shot clamatis, wisteria, roses, poppies, St. John's wort, and anything else in your garden that has a potentially appealing look. Fun, huh? Have you tried to duplicate what a rose campion looks like? THAT's a challenge that I have not quite yet figured out...still working on it. (attached)
I was looking at a site of a man in India; same shots. Viewed another portfolio from Russia; same shots. I was starting to feel 'typical.' Oh, well...I guess we are all seeing the same beauty and trying to capture it for sharing.
I hope that Peter iNova continues in the book with the same writing style found on the insert. How could he not? What a pleasure.
Just in reading the insert, I learned something profound. I have been making each correction step strive for the best possible look. Peter mentioned that sometimes a correct intermediate step may look like a photographic mistake on the way to the final image...interesting...
thank goodness it finally goes to dr carls hands. lol
dont forget to pass it on some more!
i dont think it will hurt anyone if you *ahem* happen to accidently make a COPY of the CD *ahem* accidently keep it for yourself before you sent it away. :
NO! And there's just no need for this talk here. We don't condone it or tolerate it. Period. Your 100% compliance to this request is expected. Thank you.
