Still can't get close enough to get anything good but here's what I've got so far.
That's all I've got, hope ya like.
The mallard shot is excellent and the kingfisher and green heron shots are of particularly challenging subjects. Great contribution.

All of the shots so far are really nice. I'll throw in a couple of what I hope are
my better ones.
Outstanding Dave

First time I've EVER seen ducks out back in the canal. Didn't think they were too fond of salt water?? Almost didn't see these little buggers in the shadows. Guess they surprised me. Didn't stick around long. Notice the night heronish looking red eye on that last one. What's up with that?

Nice shots Brian. Ben...not a bad shot...but wow..that blue is looking very close to grey. Did you forget to Nikonize it? Harry...those were B&W shots. You are scaring me..now.

Exccellent BIF Ben and blue water as a bonus. Be still my foolish heart.

Holy Moly...this poor post had slipped to the 6th page. Can't have that...now can we? Especially with all the machine gunning birders..here.
Nothing too special...just the usual suspects...them snowy egrets.

Two good BIFs of one of my favorite subjects.

Many tanks. I'm actually getting a bit tired of these darn white birds. Too much trouble to compensate exposure for these buggers. All birds should be #8 gray or close to it. I can't wait for this summer sun to die down. That combined with white birds, black mud...and red water make it difficult for exposures.

I can't wait for the summer light to fade away. It really makes it a bear to expose. I like the idea about all birds being #8 grat. Any bird with black and white coloring should be forced to convert.

Excellent Ben. Those cormorants aren't an easy BIF to catch.

ya bahstud. I've not seen a darn bird of prey in this area in ages. You really know how to rub the sea salt in the old wounds....don't ya?
Nice captures Harry. I'm hoping to get to one of the local state parks one of these days and snap me an eagle or three.

One just like many of the others. Snowy out back. 10/05/05
Don't take it so hard Mike. That snowy is almost as good as a bald eagle.

I'm getting a little bored with the daily snowy egret BIF shots. Same thing today...but thought I'd try and test my trigger finger skills. Tried to shoot the same wing position over and over for fun. Pretty boring..but perhaps a good skill to practice? Tomorrow..we get the upward swing of the wing BIF shots.:D
