ne_nau.gif Took me a minute, but I think there were four round pots ... akin to the four round wheels on the carriage?

    A very sarcastic association:

Cooking pots/house cooking is what brides are supposed to deal with after the marriage !

But I think I had a good one with the butchers in Cambodia ! No joke !

Some languages use certain slang to translate certain ideias, concepts...

In Portugal, meat may be associated with people wasting their lives in wars or fights with no glory.

In that sense the humans are used for politicals and economical goals.

You know that Portugal had in the 60 ies some wars in Africa.
It was a waist of lives for young people - like myself - who went there for 2 years or more. Some came back some did not.

Those young people are meat in a methaforical way.

I think that's the whole game. If someone posts a picture of a horse, you don't exactly need to post a picture of a horse as well. Just something that comes to your mind when you see the image of the horse. Sometimes it's a shape, a color, the framing or even a metaphore. Trying to find the less obvious association is big part of the fun for me.

I should have told you - and I think this is important to understand - that meat and flesh is one word in Portuguese: carne.

Let me be a little ridiculous translating - or trying to - a Portuguese saying:

Meat/flesh for the cannon - I Googled and I got this: cannon fodder

It is used when people are sacrified in vain in wars or in anywhere else.

Correct translation ? Hope so. :D
