ginger, neither i nor 4labs is able to be in manhattan to shoot your potd today. but fear not, i put the call out on another board i used to frequent a lot, and one of the lurkers there is doing the mitzvah, tonight
Thanks, Andy. The girls who are in the photo are extremely excited about this event. And to send me that link. One of the mothers e-mailed me shortly after midnight to thank me. It would be very nice if they could have a photo as a memory, also.
I am OK with it either way, it has been that kind of weekend. I have not talked to my daughter since she PMd you, sorry. She has been busy.
Hey Ginger Congrats again. My wife if doing very well. Thursday is the big day but we go to the Dr tommorrow for one last checkup and she could push teh delivery date to Saturday but that would be the absolute last day.... Thnxs for asking. Tommorrow will be 38 weeks and considered full term....
Andy....as we say in Hebrew..."Kol Hakavod"--way to go. Your efforts are truly admirable and I am happy that Ginger will be getting some shots of her lovely photo. I was lucky enough to have Eric (4labs) take my shot and that is after Nir, who read my post on the Israeli forums, also made efforts, and posted a thread here on Dgrin, asking for volunteers to take my KOPTD. Eric was only too happy to comply--and knowing him, I am sure he would have been there at midnight photographing Ginger's KOPTD already if it wasn;t for the present circumstances.
This is a very nice and supportive forum.
To future KOPTD--to future joint efforts--and Eric--to the future!!
I sent the link to the parents of the children. I got this response. I thought I would share it with you all. Everyone is so excited! And glad for the pictures and all.

Ginger,
What a mitzvah it is!!!!!!!!!! 3 of the girls were celebrating Rosh Hashonah with us last night. They really felt special with all the parents excited, albiet they don't quite understand the impact (YET). You have taken a simple act of giving and "blown" it up for them to something they will NEVER forget.
I had a friend who was in NYC yesterday who was working in Times Square. He had a great time taking a picture also! I believe his was on film. Man, that feels like snail mail to me. Maybe this is the person Andy was referring to?
I LOVE THE FACT THAT YOUR NAME WAS ACROSS THE PHOTO!
It was great to hear of your SI/Hugo experience. As you know, these girls were not alive when Hugo hit but at least 7 of these 'parental units' lived on the islands. Actually, we must have lived close to each other.....I lived on Station 19 on the Waterway side until March and moved to IOP to Hartnett Blvd. Funny story, the house on Station 19 had NO water in the house and we got 4.5 feet! It is funny how lives cross over time and many times we don't even know it.
Thanks, everyone on dGrin and other lists, too, plus children, dogs, mothers! Not necessarily in that order (except maybe for dGrin without which I never would have heard of KPOTD).
A lot of people intermingled to make a lot of people happy.
ginger, large smilie (written for those whose beliefs do not include featuring icons on e-mails, big grin.) I sure loved that group of smilies that someone put together of the people in Times Square looking at this photo, though.
Gotta "eat" to that :eat , oops, how did that get there?
