Thanks-- I've thought about this (does that mean H.S. and college students?) because I do have a daughter who would use LR as well. I was worried there were other limitations though-- such as how many copies you can have, or if it needed to be re-installed at some point would that be problematic, etc. I just wasn't sure. Another daughter does substitute teaching, but I don't know if subs can get that discount if they don't have a "real job" yet!
I don't know for sure about substitute teachers... but if she got paid, then she should have a pay-stub. That's all we needed.
And they give you the license to install the software on two devices (of same operating system). I know this b/c we installed it in my wife's laptop and desktop.

No other limitations that I've run into yet. We've had LR3 since beta.

Act now: Offer ends April 8, 2011.
Special limited-time offer for creative professionals
Save US$100 on a full version.

    Full version only US$199
    Upgrade for US$99
To order by phone, call 800-585-0774 and mention Offer Code LR3CS199.
Thanks so much for sharing this deal, Dan! I just purchased LR 3 for $199, and answered my own question (yes, it's the boxed version). I decided not to try for the student discount, because you can only get one discount per yr., and my daughter may need to use it later this yr. So I'm a happy camper-- and to anyone else who's interested, act quickly-- you still have a few more hours til April 8 is over, depending on the time zone at Adobe. Sorry, I should have asked them!

I got that email too as registered Elements user and purchased it yesterday. It was around $103 with taxes and free shipping. Sweet! I also got a huge discount on Photoshop CS5 last year as Elements user. It pays off sometimes to register your product.

This thread is several months old, however I strongly suggest checking PriceGrabber. I bought from Vegascart through their pricegrabber storefront. Other than they shipped to my home address because it was the verified paypal address, it was a great transaction and a great price.

My LR 3 trial period ends today, and I'm trying to spend as little as possible on the real version (duh). I thought we were able to get a Smug discount on it, but I'm not seeing it anywhere; only a SmugPro link to Adobe & the trial version. If that's not the case, any ideas for where to find it "cheap"? Off to check Amazon....

I have a copy I will sell you. I never registered it cause I did not like it. Interested?

Sorry! I've since bought a copy.... talked about it somewhere buried in this thread! I did get a great sale price for it. But maybe you'd get "takers" in the Buy forum. Thanks for the thought, though!
