    Thanks for sharing. Out sick...when I was working, retired now, my boss saw me the next day with a sunburn...yep. And, while I didn't reveal that I was at the beach...I did ask...and tried to point out that convalescing on the beach was better than at home in bed. His reply was that if I laid out of work on sick leave, that I'd better be too sick to drive to the beach. Hmmm...that made good sense to me...and I never got a sunburn and went to work again...after convalescing on the beach...lol.

    Heh. My work has been fitful lately. Insanely busy periods followed by nothing. My boss was happy that I wasn't charging my time to overhead and doing nothing. It worked out all around. And our HR person says "Always take your sick days first, they expire at the end of the year, but your vacation days don't." IOW, they're all on board with sick days being more of a personal day.
