Processing Image Thumbnail never goes away

I've been seeing increasing numbers of "processing image" thumbnails in my galleries after uploading, which never disappear. Some show up only to me logged in, some to everyone. The thumbnails are usually just duplicates of fully rendered files in the same gallery, at least I think they are based on the file name.
examples. newest gallery has one processing image thumbnail, uploaded last night.
It shows as file name DSC_7097.jpg which also exists as a fully rendered file in the same gallery here ->

This processing image thumbnail does not show up when I am logged out.

The publicly viewable processing image thumbnails are not shown when looking at the actual gallery, but are seen when viewing a stream like a keyword stream - http://www.jonpratt.com/keyword/GES#1400501979_SDM2x8x

This particular processing thumbnail has a matching fully rendered photo in the same feed/gallery http://www.jonpratt.com/keyword/GES#1400501168_wVsd2sL Both file name DSC_6785.jpg

any ideas?

    Hi Jon! We're aware of this problem and are working on getting it fixed. You can safely delete those extra processing thumbs, they are duplicates of images that are already in your gallery. I'm sorry for the inconvenience and we'll get this fixed as soon as we can.

    Processing thumb
    Just saw this thread so moved my post here.

    I had 5-6 "processing thumbs" after upload today that didn't go away. The
    actual photo for each uploaded and was next to each processing thumb in
    the gallery. Both showed the same file number. I'll finally just deleted to
    "processing thumb". Simple uploader FF

    Had it just now, for a video. The actual video file only rendered to 320, no other sizes. Reuploading now.

    Yes, I have same issue started about 3 weeks ago. The only work around that works is delete them and upload again.

    OK, I just check again, the issue started to happen randomly. One of my gallary did not have the "Processing Image Thumbnail" before now have at least one on every page.

    Sweet Smugmug! This must be a new feature.

    BTW, do you guys over there test your web app at all!?

    I got those yesterday too and I also got in queue on four shots randomly so I had to stop uploading the entire gallery but only do five at a time. Uploading has been a pain this whole month.

    I'm getting these too - today, 14 of them in a 306-image upload. grrr.

    Glad to learn I don't have to re-upload them. Hope it goes away soon.

    Ah good - I've been bulk uploading via Lightroom and thought it was a Lightroom issue causing the problem :)

    This bug is a real pain. Deleting the 'processing image' and then double checking that everything uploaded fine. I used to be able to just look at the image count and it wasn't off as often as it is now. This needs to be fixed asap or a dupe finder function rolled out immediately.

    I've found that EVERY "processing thumb" is right next to the uploaded photo so it's real easy comparing the file
    numbers. If same, delete processing thumb.

    How is easy is this in a gallery of a 1000 images? It's tedious. Even if you use the 'Delete Many' tool, it still takes time.

    I doubt that existing images stuck in "processing" would be fixed with the fix when it's released. You can only delete those manually. Sorry for the inconvenience.
    Note that your visitors do not see "processing image" thumbnails.

    Judging by this bug still wreaking havoc on uploads, and the timeframe of late to see bugs like this squashed, I'm putting a guessimate on the timeline to be before August 27th.

    Really sucks. I don't have time to check all my galleries for both missing images and these processing issues. I'm just deleting anything under the mass delete tool that doesn't have a proper thumbnail and then reuploading with skip duplicates. And I repeat this process until I get everything up properly. It's a real bother.

    Recent private gallery of 200+ images had 3 of these that have not gone away. Did not have time to check all before sending the link to a client. Silly of me not to check but was not aware this bug existed. Client most puzzled why photos are not visible (did not see file name the same as rendered one).

    ETA for a fix?

    Still not fixed
    Just uploaded around 80 photos to 2 galleries and noticed about 6 "Processing Image" thumbnails. After some investigation, those thumbnails don't represent any of photos I uploaded. They are just there taking space.headscratch.gif

    I delete them all and now the galleries look nice and clean. No more junks.

    Smugmug, please give us a ETA or at least response with some work around.

    I am also in software business, there will always be bugs. The important thing is recognized them and keep clients updated on the progress to fix them. thumb.gif

    Hi Folks, we think we fixed this problem, and the extraneous Processing Image thumbnails should go away or be gone already. Give it a day or so from today and if the problem happens again, do tell us, thanks.

    Still getting up to 9 of these in a gallery of 300 images. Not a difficult fix, but annoying.

    Will do. thumb.gif I'll assume it won't be fixed by the end of this weekend, so I'll look for a fix in the next upload batch.

    Just uploaded two batches tonight and still had the issue. Will hope for more positive results tomorrow night.
