First Thank You #1) is 1/500 f/5.6 300mm, #2) 1/80 f/14 80-200mm shot taken @86mm, #3) 1/1250 f/4 300mm 1.4 tele making it 420mm, #4) 1/1600 f/4 300mm 1.4 tele #5) same as #4 #6) same as 4and 5 #7) 1/125 f/11 80mm. Hope this helps down the road, more than anything you want to show they are moving if you set the speed so hi that it freezes everything it makes it look like it's just sitting on the track.
Thanks again
Scott

I am really confused now, According to the Depth of field calculator that I am using there is no way that at the parameters you have given (focus point on helmet, 20 yards) and the EXIF data (D300, f11. 80mm) of the photo the DOF would not have been that shallow. The calculator I used says the DOF would be from about 36 to 168 feet. Do I need a new calculator or is something else is happening.
BTW overall you have some pretty nice panning skills.
Thats good, the distance really was just a guess but thanks for your hard work on figuring that out.
