lighting a large group

Probably a bad term choice. Think of a kicker as you would a rim light. My useage of the light on that shot, while it does come from the side, doesn't quite fall under kicker. But it's not quite fill either. So I am torn for a vocabulary to describe it any better.

Maybe I should have just call it a main light and the ambient light was the fill. Yes, that will be my story that I stick with
