How about "local christmas lights" also? I'm hoping to get out this year around town to photograph some of the more brightly decorated homes. We have some famous ones in the bay area but I don't always get to see them. There's one block that does quite an extravaganza and another section of town in San Jose, Willow Glen, where the home owners decorate their matching trees in their yards.
There was this one house in New Jersey where every year they'd add more lights! We looked forward to seeing the Bruno's house each holiday season.
I'm sure we all have spots like this that would be of interest besides our own lights. What do you think? (Since it's your thread) :

Not exactly "my Christmas Lights" but here is a Christmas Tree at least!
Not the best angle, but I misplaced my little tripod and the thing you attach to your camera for the big tripod...

You've gotta watch this video clip (don't worry, it's kid safe, nothing bad here):

The music, by the way, is the Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Wizards in Winter. Cool Christmas music concert if you ever have the chance to go.
Have fun!
I knew, of course, that trees and plants had roots, stems, bark, branches and foliage that reached up toward the light. But I was coming to realize that the real magician was light itself.

Everytime you think you've seen it all - they keep on popping up new lights! Perfectly synced - love it.
Do you have more of it??
Thanks,
Sebastian
PS: Found another song in the backgroundinfo page you linked.
The music is actually transmitted to your radio on a specific frequency when you drive by. How cool's that? :

FYI, I looked up the price of the controllers to do this kind of thing. This guy has 88 seperate channels controlling the lights. $1399 for 80 channels. + the FM transmitter, cost =??. + 20k lights. + the power bill amd higher amp circuits. The guy should get into digital photography - he could buy quite an outfit with some "L" glass

Even this dude to make his appearance near the finale for the kiddies:

Question: I'm a newb. The pictures I took tonight came out slightly blurred. I'm guessing from not keeping the camera completely steady (I tried my best and the shots looked good on the LCD screen). And I have no tripod. Any tips for keeping a camera steady without the use of a tripod? Or, maybe steadiness wasn't the problem and I just did something dumb. :cry
I am going to Chicago this weekend. I am going to try to grab some more there.

I live very close to this house. It is very cool to see in person.

I couldn't resist blowing it up, but be warned - it looks disastrous!

Deerfield "Light" house pulls the plug
By Jessica Brown
Enquirer staff writer
DEERFIELD TWP. – Just two days after his computerized Christmas light display gained national media attention, Carson Williams had to shut it down last night because of traffic problems.
So many cars have been coming to his house to see the display it has become a safety concern, he said. Last night a car accident occurred in the midst of the traffic jam caused by the display and authorities were unable to get to the scene, he said.
“I’ve compromised the safety of the people who live in our neighborhood,” he said. “So we’ve shut the show down indefinitely.”
The light show featured several Christmas songs, including one from the Trans-Syberian Orchestra. He synchronized the 25,000 lights on his home to flash to the music, which played on an FM radio frequency so passers by could tune in.
Williams posted his 2004 display online and it became so popular it earned his family an appearance Monday on “The Today Show.”
The 2004 show is still available online at:
