I knew, of course, that trees and plants had roots, stems, bark, branches and foliage that reached up toward the light. But I was coming to realize that the real magician was light itself.

I'll have mine.....
....sometime this weekend.
Person down the street has a nice setup.
I might tool around some of the more upscale homes for photo op's.
Myself I don't goof with lights....too much of a PITA and my utility bill is enough!

A local radio station had the homeowner on a talk show. He's spent more than I had guessed - more than $3.5K so far. He's getting a lot of attention on this. Certainly not the only person doing it but his house video is the one being sent all over the web.
Apparently he has spent over 10 GRAND on these lights! GOOD GRIEF! But hey - he and his family have national Exposure because of it!
"This display was the work of Carson Williams, a Mason, Ohio, electrical engineer who spent about three hours sequencing the 88 Light-O-Rama channels that controlled the 16,000 Christmas lights in his annual holiday lighting spectacular (from Christmas 2004). His 2005 display includes over 25,000 lights that he spent nearly two months and $10,000 to hook up. So that the Williams' neighbors aren't disturbed by constant noise, viewers driving by the house are informed by signs to tune in to a signal broadcast over a low-power FM radio station to hear the musical accompaniment"
Well........
It was my idea to start this thread and I'm just now contributing!
My 1st time ever taking Christmas lights and I found it's no easy task.
I took several but only VERY few came out decent.
Camera shake/lack of sharpness.
No fast lenses in my arsenal so.......:cry
These 2 were the best I got.
Almost not worth posting.
LA Griffith Park Lights
This is the first time I'd seen the lights at Griffith Park. Pretty nice, my 6 month old really liked them... either that or all the car headlights going by.
The real Hollywood sign is never lit up.
Christmas in the Jurassic era?
It's nice to drive through, but much better if you get out and walk!
If you really want to see Christmas light displays. it is really hard to do better than the pros at Disney MGM Studios in Florida. My son has been working there for the last year and invited us down for a few days. This is one of the streets in MGM Studios at closing time.

Not too many lights but festive just the same.

Hi everyone. I've been a bit busy lately and not able to enjoy dGrin much. Ahhh the life of a retailer at Christmas!
Here's wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas, Happy Hannukah and all best wishes for the new year.
