Not really detective work, because, since I re-size/switch portrait/landscape modes on iPad relatively frequently, just something that popped out as obviously not working. I have lots of other issues with the gallery view (which is the primary view i use), but this is the one that makes it unusable for me (but, I don't find any of the other views acceptable for my purposes, either, so right now the issue just means waiting in the hopes that issues will be fixed before thinking about unveiling.)
Ahhh. I was wondering how you knew that this was a problem on an iPad. I knew that window re-sizing wasn't possible so I let it slide. I never thought of portrait to landscape mode switching (and vice versa of course).
Like I mentioned, I never re-size windows so that's why I never noticed. I suspect that is why you're the first to see this bug manifest itself.
I'd consider changing gallery styles, but I don't like Journal, and the others are not friendly to captions.
"3) the thumbnails -- thumbnails do not update on re-sizing the window unless the the page is re-loaded using a force re-load. Since the thumbnails do not update, changing the page or clicking next page changes the preview image but the thumbnails do not update."
Several people have noticed this behavior and have entered a bug report on it in the "bug reporting" section.
