[Resolved] [Added Active Bug List] Bug in Tools > Organize > Replace

Bug - in Tools > Organize > Replace, after selecting the replacement file the file-name doesn't populate the space next to the "Browse..." button, so there's no way to visually verify that you've selected the correct file.

Here's a grab:

FWIW: XP SP3, FF 23.0.1, New SM

The problem, if you look closely at the picture, is that the font is white with a white background.
The replacement file name is 1323084_MFULL.jpg.

    Cheers,

I stand corrected. I would never have spotted that if I'd looked at it for a million years, I have the visual acuity of a T. Rex!

So, how do I fix that? Is it my choice of text/background colours that's causing it to happen, or is it something at the SM end?

Beardedgit, keep in mind, this only happens on Firefox, not Chrome, Safari or IE

Thanks, I'll bear that in mind. Firefox is the browser of choice on my laptop - I only have IE on my system because XP won't let me ditch it, Chrome runs like a dog with three legs and Safari does odd things with the rendering of my blog, so I don't use it much.

Cheers for putting this matter onto the Active Bugs List thumb.gif

All you have to do is compare the replace dialog in Chrome to see that the space to the right of the browse button is supposed to be black not white in Firefox.
How hard can it be to fix this?

Super-ultra-mega-hard. Harder than a hard thing from Hardville. Wellard.
I'll wager that it'll be easy to blame the browser.

This is what depresses me... when a small, very straightforward kind of fix is still sitting here being a pain and embarrassing the site after two months. WHY????? headscratch.gif Just tell one browser one thing. Please. Oh SmugMug, you just gotta stop letting so many people down in this way. Every time Thurs. rolls around, I get hopeful, thinking there'll be a bunch of fixes. And then there's rarely anything. It's so sad. :cry

Seems like all of the fire-fighters are out playing Steve McQueen, taming the Towering Infernos, and there's nobody in reserve to deal with domestic chip-pan fires.

It doesn't impress me when I'm offered new features while some old basic must-have functions are still in need of repair.

The degree of apathy towards tackling the bug/missing feature list is astonishing.
Many would seem easy to fix. Just standard stuff.
They just ignore everything now and do an occasional easy help post.
    It's really sad.

    or -
It's inevitable there will be bugs and hiccups along the way and Smugmug is no different to anyone else in this respect, and it's hardly a shambles. Smugmug do their very best and even under this strain the customer service is still good.

    ..... ?

Is this bug really so difficult to fix? FFS, it just needs a minor edit to one line of the Firefox-specific section of the code, replacing each "238" with, say, "138". My kids could fix it. Hell, if I was a betting man I'd wager that even M. Bonocore's dog could fix it!

    Here, have a screenshot:

Good Lord. Seriously? THAT's the few seconds it would take to fix this? Shhhhhheeeeeeesh!!!! Btw, I am still laughing every time I see "banjaxed" & "a monkey's chuff" again. Oh my, they are great specimens! Just to be clear, which part of the monkey IS the chuff??? wings.gif Oh, and is "banjaxed" sorta like taking an ax to a banjo & splitting it?? :D

More or less. Hardly rocket-science, is it?

Human opinions vary, and the last time I asked a monkey I got a familiar-looking reply:
We don't have any information for you right now. I know this is not the answer you are looking for, but it is the only answer we have for you at the moment. I am sorry this is not the answer you were hoping for. I wish I could give you a better answer, but at this time, I just cannot.
Here's The Grauniad's take on the matter. And here's what Yahoo! Answers says.

    I like that thumb.gif
It's better than my idea of using a banjo as an axe to "fix" things such as my laptop.
    FWIW: Banjaxed.

Is there a CSS code we could use to fix it ourselves?

rolleyes1.gif HeeHeehee! More laughs for a little Christmas-crazies-break! Oh my, the familiar-looking reply... :cry Well, I am now no more & no less edumacated about a monkey's chuff than I was last night (in reality I'm now quite ferhuddled about it), but at least I can find a few pertinent situations in which to interject the phrase! Ahh, yes, the poor old banjo. I do happen to love banjos, but if you decide to use an old banjaxed one to jury-rig any of the discombobulated stuff around here, I won't complain. mwink.gif

But don't you have anybody picking off the easy targets while the others invent new weapons for the bigger campaign?
