Copy photos

Hi all,
I was thinking if there is a way to copy photos between the galleries and not move those. Reason? One gallery for backups and then a second one for sharing with relatives.

One way is to launch the monkey editing software and make a copyy,,, but this needs too much time for a single shot.

Are there any easier alternatives?

Alex

I just go to the pic I want copied and hit "share" and "collect" and put in appropriate folder or gallery.

    Hey Aalaios,

TipiWalter is right. You can collect images to a gallery, and we'll place virtual copies there. This page here tells you more: http://help.smugmug.com/customer/portal/articles/93310

We also have the Smart Gallery Settings, which will do the same thing, but allow you to create rules on what you want to collect to the gallery, and collect them based on keywords. This page here tells you about that: http://help.smugmug.com/customer/portal/articles/93308

    i hope that helps!

Thanks a lot with the answer. The only problem with that is I have to do it piece by piece. I can not for example select 10 images out of 1000 to "copy" them into a new gallery.

Right now I find the procedure time consuming

Alex . . . there was (in old Smugmug) a feature that would allow the "collection" of multiple images in one step. That feature was somehow lost or abandoned in the transition to new SM. Many (including me) have complained bitterly about this; see http://dgrin.com/showthread.php?t=238250. That thread contains a cobbled workaround which you can try if you like.
