Today, we implemented the ability to randomize the order of the photos in a slideshow. Simply change the toggle "Randomize Images" to "Yes" in the Playback option on the Slideshow Content Block

Just tried it - works great for me. Thanks soooo much - I'd been hoping for months that this functionality would be implemented in New Smugmug.
Thankyou Smugmug for implementing this.
We sometimes don't like the implementation time, but ...
One of the great advantages of New Smug is that new features CAN be developed and added.
Being able to add features without customising code is a big attraction ('cos I don't know how to code)
Great job ... keep rolling out those features!!!

Thanks! Yes, it is much easier for us to integrate new features in the New SmugMug. But it still takes time to make sure it is right. Glad you all are liking the randomize slideshow!

Just want to say thanks to Smugmug. I love this feature.

Will it use all of them. Does it repeat indefinitely?
Cheers,

If so... i would like to add a feature request for that.
Correct Phaser...only the widget. I have submitted your feature request

Could I request this as a feature?
Yes, Random should mean it shuffles the deck, then plays the list in a loop.
We're still missing the click through feature and the fancy transitions from the JS version.
Cheers,
Ah, I'm sorry, I just checked my gallery and found there were a few duplicates. You're absolutely right, it does play in a loop without repeating any. Thanks, and sorry!
Either way, randomized means each image has the same probability of being displayed each time a new image is displayed. So if the show is truly randomized there can be repeated showings of an image before running through the entire set.
