a shirt, aftershave, chocolate, deodorant (!), shower gel, a towel. I guess there's something wrong with my personal hygene.... ;) j/k it was all in accordance with my taste, so I am darned happy. And with us, it's more about spending quality time together than about expensive gifts. It was a great xmas!

I did get a digital zuiko 50mm f2 macro as a gift from someone who really knew what I'd like in the photography field: me!

Most bestest, I got a scarf my DC, soon to be Columbia SC, daughter knitted for me. Her hand had long been in a cast, it was a painful thing for her to do, but good therapy. We both benefitted, but it was me she knitted it for. And it is gorgeous, matches my jeans and just right for birding on cold mornings.

And nextest, but not lesser than, my oldest daughter knitted me a prayer shawl. Gorgeous! While one knits this thing, one prays for the person who is being knitted for. So lots of good prayers are coming my way now and next year (I don't know if there is a termination point on how long the prayers work , I doubt it).

And, well, this is terrible, but my ex husband is going thru a divorce, so it really made my Christmas better (maybe his, too). All kids except one were here, we all had a holly jolly, prayerful, crying, fighting, back to jolly, but most of all Relaxed christmas, first time in years.

No photo stuff. That is usually from uncle sam in a month or so, will have to see on that. Gift certificates in small amounts, ..............well, what I remember are the prayer shawl and scarf, too. The scarf is also gorgeous.

The Chrildren's mass was a gift, a real gift. I have photos, imagine my frustration, have to wait til I get home to upload and no one will care to see Christmas photos. But suffice it to say that the children's Christmas mass had it all, very moving, tears of joy and happiness, laughter, many little children, the creche, the adoration, the christmas story, the children's choir, the children, a translator for the deaf..................and at the endish, Santa, the reaist looking Santa ever, so who knows, brought a cake up the aisle, one lit candle, laid the cake at the foot of the altar in front of the manger and knelt while the children sang. Not many dry eyes there, either.

One heck of a production and very moving.

I had a good christmas! (Oh, and yesterday morning, Santa, in his hat, was sitting at this PC, in a torn t-shirt, smoking a cigarette. Sometimes a dangling cigarette. Now that is a photo)

I had it all this Christmas! The good, best one in many years!

Well for me it was pretty much the usual, which is fine. SD always gets me Clinique skin care stuff, which I do use, he still sees me as some young Chick, bless his heart. Mom always gets me clothes, her attempt to keep me from running around is rags:D

Don and I get what we want for ourselves and each other thoughout the year. Howevr he did tell me if I keep improving with the 300D a 20D might be around for my birthday this summerclap.gifclapclap.gif

That we (Mom, SD, Don and I) had a wonderful day is the best gift.

My hetero life partner and I blew all our money for the year during a trip to SE asia in November; so christmas was a little thin.

Nevertheless, I did get some nice photogear:

Canon 35-135mm USM lens :):, used from Adorama, where I was RUTHLESSLY upsold. Looks a little beat up, but works great.

Cokin P filter set up with 3 neutral density filters.

    non-photogear:

Boxed set of "band of brothers" DVD
    Freakonomics

and the best gift of all, my friend Cesar caught the DSLR bug and got a 350d, so now we can exchange lenses!

    A new Baby for Christmas
    In Edmonton Santa brought me:
A couple of photoshop books that I asked for
A new 60Gb IPod to replace the one that light-fingered Louie took ....
    The usual assortment of clothes

We then traveled 3800km to Montreal to have a new baby:

    49661680-L.jpg

Ours is the blue one! A little band of brothers only 7 weeks old. His name is Gilligan. To understand the name you need to know that our other dog is named Buddy. Therefore the connection (for those that remember the TV show... Gilligan was called Little Buddy)

This is the two boys waiting for us to arrive from the airport. Don't parents normally wait for the baby to arrive!?!

The other baby's name is Charlot (pronounced Shar-low), french for Charlie

They are precious! My daughters wanted a new puppy for Christmas but their mommy is allergic to cats and dogs :o( So I couldn't get what they asked for...

Let's see if I can remember what I got for Christmas!

    -John Mayer Trio "Try" CD
    -"Brothers Grimm" DVD
    -Lightsphere II
-A rather large Photoshop CS2 book
-Some money (can't go wrong there!)
    -Candle
    -An indoor grill.

That's it! We had a wonderful Christmas - although I WANTED a white Christmas - no such thing in Alabama :o(
