mmmm mmm mmm. The pictured variety is the hefeweissen - quite tasty. Not as good as Harpoon's UFO, but still quite good. (and of course, neither is as good as the weiss beers I came to love on my trip to Western Austria 2 years ago).

Nice use of props though, eh? Sadly, when SB800 and 70-200 arrive, I'll have less room for my pint glass and refreshment.

My favorite and - as far as i am concerned - the original is "Hoegaarden Witbier". It has been my beer of choice for years and years now; however, it is a little harder to get here in the USA. For a USA brand, Harpoon UFO comes closest and is very good. So much better than that aaaawwwfulllll Blue Moon. yeagh :puke1

Well, I'm going to write my first "tute" and I just wanted to share a little personal problem and see if anyone else shares it. That name "tute". Doesn't it remind anyone else of bad things done in a misspent youth?
    If not now, when?

    Journal style for tutes?
Is there something special here? What about page breaks? How many images to a journal page? Can I make it break where I want to? Should I just leave this to Andy and Co?

More of the same: can I control the size of the journal images? I'm writing a sharpening tutorial and sometimes the effects are just too subtle to see at M size, need L.

Nothing special. The break comes every ten images. I don't believe you can override that, but mebbe. Feel free to email me with questions...

Yeah, and leave it up to Andy...he'll most likely leave it private until everyone's happy, anyway, so you'll have an opportunity to review it...

Rutt - when they click on an image in a tute, it goes to single screen mode, and you can see it in size Large (800 pixels).

Tutorial nuts and bolts (for authors)
OK, now that I understand the mission of these, I do have a suggestion that I think falls within the range of possibility and which would improve my two tutorials a lot and I think probably a lot of others as well.

Could there be the option of having a single large image in the header of each tutorial? Basically this would give the option to have a large side by side (or over and under) before and after, large enough to really see inline.

I'm pretty sure this is possible with CSS styling, but I'm not sure exactly how. I'll find out if I have to and if the proposal is accepted.

What if the image were only 2x has high as small. Or Large sized? We already scroll past the dgrin branding on each page.

This coming from a guy named rutt, BTW.

rut noun ( the rut) an annual period of sexual activity in deer and some other mammals, during which the males fight each other for access to the females. verb ( rutted , rutting ) [ intrans. ] [often as adj. ] ( rutting) engage in such activity : a rutting stag.

Yeah, I know. Truth is, this was my father's nickname and only his real friends used it. As he started to get older and not get out anymore, well, both my brother and I started to use it, in spite of that connotation. Now he's gone, and we carry this name and every so often it makes me stop and remember him and his friends.

Bet there isn't as good a reason for calling them 'tutes. But I made my little joke and got it out of my system and all is well.
