Thanks Tatiana!
It's an awesome sight, glad Don pointed it out.

Indeed - wow!
I didn't know before about "Pow Pow"... We participated once at one festival in Ottawa - I thought it was something specific Canadian but they didn't have anything like this in the streets of the city... All they had was a fest in a field...
I'm glad we went, because I could see some costumes, dancing and music.
Here are some shots of their artistic costumes - they are not meant to be great photography - just documentary in the strict sense of the term.
The Bajío, where Guaanajuato is, is one of my favorite places. It is very different than the Norteño states.
This statue is in front of the Teatro Cervantes in the middle of downtown Guanajuato. The celebration of the writer Cervantes, (called the Cervantino) is celebrated every year at this time.
Another foto for a feel for Guanajuato that shows the statues in context

Gracais Tatiana
This is in the Bajío, a very devoutly Catholic place in Méjico.
There are many beautiful personal shrines and religious artworks.
These are referred to as Cristos for obvious reasons.
Dolores is a center of ceramic stuff, particularly tiles, the medium for the Cristo.

I loved that this artist used what I suspect is a fan to serve as the subject's diamond ring!

I looked up the town... wow... it's neat
I've been to Baja (shooting the races) more than a few times and fell into the trap that the rest of Mexico looks like desert
