Don't know if this is considered art, but I was impressed with the effect of stained glass at that time of day
In my opinion, beautiful architecture, with ornamental details are certainly art.
The stained glass windows in these churches and cathedrals are not only great pieces of artwork, but the artists builders knew how to create and place them to bring celestial (like) lighting effects from outside inside
This is certainly a beautiful artistic image fridaypic , but it should be subject of a separate thread by itself posted under "Other Cool Shots": http://www.dgrin.com/forumdisplay.php?f=44
At L'écluse de l'Aiguille, one of the countless locks along the Canal du Midi, the lockmaster is an artist and the lock area is full of his irrestible creations, some of which move and make noise (#4)
All of those people on the barges looked like they were having fun. Mostly is seemed like they were sipping glasses of wine as we were riding by sweating on our bikes. It seemed to us that on the hottest afternoons the tree coverage seemed to disappear and the trail was rougher and rougher.
The Mekong delta sounds very interesting - looking forward to your entry in "Journeys"!

I rented barges twice on the Midi... Great trips
I still remember the canopy of Italian Poplars that are part of the engineering to hold the banks
So memorable.. that I'm planning a river boat trip up the Mekong Delta to Cambodia next year...
