SmugMug not keeping log in.

I have to log in almost each time I bring up my SmugMug site even tho I check the Remember Me box. I have tried unchecking that box, log in, log out, relog in with the box checked. That lasted for just ONE log in. It is frustrating having to log in each time - I have long and usually difficult passwords for security reasons. I just may shorten my password for SmugMug since I have to use it multiple times a day!!

This can happen if you do not have cookies enabled as that's where the PW is saved.
Another reason could be a corrupt cookie. Remove all the Smugmug cookies and try again.

Do you by chance know what the SmugMug cookies are named? I can't find cookies with SmugMug in the name in my INetCache. I would rather not clear all history and cookies. thanks.

I was able to find SmugMug cookies and selectively remove them in both Chrome and Firefox by using the browser settings dialogs. Here are links to instructions for those browsers:
https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/95647?co=GENIE.Platform=Desktop&hl=en
https://support.mozilla.org/t5/Cookies-and-cache/Delete-cookies-to-remove-the-information-websites-have-stored-on/ta-p/1919
Edge apparently doesn't have a way to clear only selected cookies.
Hopefully you can find the instructions for the browser you are using. I found these by searching for
(or firefox, or...)

Thanks Denise. Unfortunately, I use Edge. I can find the folder in which the cookies are stored (INetCache), but there are no SmugMug cookies saved. I see cookies in Firefox and they all have proper SmugMug references. But just removing them in Firefox won't help me in Edge!
One wonders if there is a problem between SmugMug and Edge with cookies not being stored? It's as if cookies (username and password - both are missing) are stored once in a while since it retains UN and PW maybe every tenth time or so, but then they're deleted when I back out of the site.
At any rate, since I don't want to delete all my cookies, I'll just deal with having to enter username and password when I enter my site - Or stop using Edge and use Firefox more often

Also, it seems that my SmugMug site is the only one in which this occurs so regularly. I rarely have to re-login on other sites including DGRIN. FYI.

It's a problem that been reported and discussed before. See https://dgrin.com/discussion/comment/2046661 or https://dgrin.com/discussion/257886. I too get logged out after every other logged-in visit. I see that behavior both on Firefox and Chrome (under Windows 7). And I too see that sort of behavior nowhere except SmugMug, so it sure appears to be something unique to the way SmugMug writes its cookies.
On another discussion I've not been able to re-locate -- Dgrin's search capability with the new Vanilla Forum System leaving much to be desired -- leftquark noted they were aware there was some sort of cookie problem with some browser/operating system combinations that the SmugMug engineers have not been able find and correct. I'm working from memory on that one. Leftquark, is that the right description?
Update: I found Leftquark's comment. It's at https://dgrin.com/discussion/comment/2048667
One of our quality assurance staff noticed some issues with staying logged in this past week, though our troubleshooting indicated everything was set properly and should have remained logged in. Since this is a fairly rare event that requires near real-time troubleshooting, I still recommend emailing the support heroes at help@smugmug.com as soon as you see this occur in the future so we can collect extra troubleshooting and diagnostic information.

Did you folks adjust something? After being mostly away for a few days, I find now that I'm now staying logged in. I'm glad that little glitch seems to be gone.
I also noticed today that I am staying logged in . If the SmugMug heroes fixed this..................YAY!

Some of us have been having this issue for years on SmugMug (and yes, I literally mean years.) I'm one of them. For a couple months after I got my site transferred over to New SmugMug, I thought it was fixed. But for me, it's not. I don't have any trouble with the SmugMug app on my Android. This has only ever been a desktop issue for me. I'm on Windows 7, & almost always on FireFox. I haven't been able to figure out any rhyme or reason behind when I do or don't get logged out, but I do get logged out very frequently & growl about it (yes, probably as often as every other time I'm on my site) & I always have "keep me logged in" checked. It's always quite annoying & I would LOVE to find a fix. But I've never found one & SmugMug has never been able to fix it either.. I simply gave up complaining about it. I only clear cache now & then, but that's never fixed this either. When I get a chance, I'll try the suggestion Denise gave for selective removal of cookies. I'll post back when I do.
