The frescos date to about 1170. They were whitewashed during the Reformation and discovered in 1808, were restored several times, most recently in 2003:
The fresco on the upper left shows the three Magi bringing gifts to the Christ child; the lower left show the founders of the church, Asser Riig and Mrs. Inge, handing over the church to God. The upper right picture depicts the Flight to Egypt. The lower right fresco was destroyed except for what appears to be the hand of God:
The crucifix has been dated to 1250 to 1275:
Looking west: the two granite columns present an unanswered riddle: they appear to have been machine-turned, apparently by a lost process. The granite originates in Aswan in Upper Egypt; how they were made and how they were transported to Northern Europe more than 850 years ago is unknown:
Finally, the collection box, which shows signs of having been partly buried at some time:
