The weather has been mostly dreary and cold here for the past two weeks and I have a great longing for Spring. In this challenge I'd like to see photos where the colors of spring play a role - that is, please no flower close-ups but rather a scene where the colors of spring are visible but not necessarily the main focus of the picture. One should simply have a strong sense of the season being represented.
This Mini will run until Tuesday May 4, 9am PDT.
Here are a couple of examples:

great challenge subject Sara! Spring in Alaska looks pretty much like winter to most other states. However, these images were taken late spring, in early May. Tell tale signs of spring here is seeing snowline on mountains moving up higher and higher each day. No flowers are seen till the dandies come out in very late May to early June. Which technically, is still considered Spring here and elsewhere until June 20th at equinox. Here are a few of mine...
1 Moving snow line
2 Lower elevations birch trees are the first to get color
3 Road construction begins again!
Sara most of your examples seem to be of wildflowers. Are garden scenes that are not close-ups of the flowers acceptable? Also what flowering trees?
Yes, garden scenes are acceptable and any flowering trees.
@JAG Joyce, thanks for making a start with great examples of how different the signs of spring can be depending on where you live.
Nice theme Sara, spring shots can be very uplifting after a long winter and dreary early year weather

@grandmaR thanks for the three great entries!
I'm really loving everyone's different takes on this.
1) Western Skunk Cabbage -blooms in early Spring, much to the detriment of one's sense of smell!
2) Rivers run large and sometimes wild in Spring during snow melt.
3) Merced River Canyon outside Yosemite - Poppy season in full bloom.
