The rarest of the opening bridges - the Pontoon or a floating bridge. I have only seen two pontoon bridges. This is a bridge that floats on floats or small boats. In order for boats to pass the bridge has to be pulled aside. One of the pontoon bridges was in North Carolina. This one is the Queen Emma bridge in Curacao
From above you can see the bridge is floating - it is a pedestrian bridge.
When a boat wants to enter the harbor the bridges is pulled aside with a motor (which is blue in this photo)
When the bridge is being repaired, there is a ferry for people to cross
