Nikon asked to send in my camera again. Let's hope it will be fixed now.
I wonder why it could not be fixed the first time... The banding-in-the-noise issue was not hard to reproduce. I shot about 100 pictures in low light (exhibition hall)... almost all of them have this issue.
Let's hope they nail it this time! Are they paying shipping? They should!!!!
That's wrong...you already paid for them to fix this problem...you shouldn't have to re-pay to have it re-fixed! :nono :pissed
I did not pay for any of the repairs, but - yes - i did pay for shipping the D200 to them. I'm willing to pay it one more time (it's about $13). If it is still not fixed after the 2nd repair, i need to do something else...:D

I talked to the dealer from which i bought it. He may get me a new D200. He could not be sure about this, since the camera is effectively 'refurbished' by being repaired. But since i have all the boxes, nikon warranty cards, etc., it still may be possible. He's giving me a call tomorrow.
I have the new body and, since my first one was not too good, i did some quick tests (ISO400 and ISO1600/3200). The short-type banding is still there a little. I think this is just part of the camera. I don't mind this too much. The noise levels of the new D200 body is somewhere in between my first D200 body (the highest levels) and the first one after the fix (lowest levels).
So far, no stripes/banding in the noise.
BTW: Serial number is 303xxxx

all I can think is:
"Will that be on a Monday?"

Good news (i hope). The dealer, BromField Camera in Boston, will replace my D200 with a new one.
