    Andy,
There's truth in jest! I need a photo of you, holding that D2X in one hand and today's New York Times in the other.

I've shot with Canon SLR's for almost 25 years and I must admit the D2X is a very find body. If you must make the change, please get a 200-400/4 VR and let me use it in utah. I am so impressed by that combo its not funny.

    Happy Andy Fools Day!

As we walked the aisles at the show, every thing Andy said turned to
Nikon. "Did you see that? Nikon has the 200 f/1.8. What's Canon offer
that's equiv? That's right, they discontinued that!".

In your face Nikon for three days...

Whatever. It was total "nikon this nikon that". Thumbsup all the
    way...blah, blah, blah.

This past week at dinner (and you can ask cletus), it was all about Nikon
    vs. Canon.

And a whole bunch of new glass clap.gif

I was in quite a tizzy this morning. I have been waiting untill April to order the 5D, and 24-105 4.0L so I could get the $300, and $50 rebates. Woke up bright and early, put the coffee on and what do I see? B&H isn't accepting any orders today! :cry

Upon reading Andy's post I was both bemused, and confused. Then after very carefull thought, I have made a huge desision.

I know it's gona sound crazy to some of you, but here is my reasoning. Andy knows more about cameras, and photography then I will probably ever know. I have commited what is for me a lot of $$ to get the absolute best images I can. I can sell my L glass for good money, I can keep the Rebel, and have it converted to IR.

It will cost me more $$ than I had planed, but what the H, you only live once. I have my B&H cart filled up the my Visa max and the D2X is on the top.

    Wish me luck!

    Yo, people...
ummmm.... the joke is on all of us, but its not what you may think. The April Fools comment by Andy above is true, but the real facts surrounding this thread might be even more amusing. The days ahead will be very interesting.

Consider this: Andy was a die-hard PC user until some of the moderators got him thinking Apple. He made that transition, and hasn't thought twice about ever going back to the PC world he left. Andy buys and uses what he thinks is best for the given situation. He just traded cars too.

And, you know how he enjoys selling stuff - about as much as he likes buying new toys.

There has been ongoing discussion since PMA between Andy and the moderators if becoming a Nikon shooter would hurt his image. In private mod-only threads, the Nikon Yes/No debates became so heated that if they were to made public, we would have been forced to ban ourselves.

You may know about Andy's trip a few weeks ago for the 500mm shootout. Harry had Andy trying out a couple of high-end Nikon bodies and lenses. That might have been the turning point. So if Andy the Nikonian is real, we'll all have Harry to blame (hey, you gotta blame someone! lol3.gif).

We knew the Andy/Nikon transition would eventually come, and if Andy has been testing his resolve here, or if the new stuff actually did arrive today - well, I don't know.

Look though the Andybay threads to see all the Canon gear that Andy has unloaded lately. I think he is keeping his 350D Rebel IR conversion and one 10-22 lens, and some Canon stuff his wife shoots with. But for his serious shooting, it looks to be Nikon in his immediate future.

Whatever the brand of gear, it's always about the pictures. So there you go. Something to chew on.
