What kind of term is Kiwi? As in, how offensive is it? Not at all? Just a little bit? Would any New Zealander take offense?
Not in the slightest, David.
To the contrary, as well as being the name for the flightless bird and used as a diminutive form of 'kiwifruit' in North America, New Zealanders are, and expect to be, called 'kiwis' to identify and distinguish them from the nationals of other countries.

Hey, Amazon is asking for anyone experiencing this problem if they can join them on a conference call? I'll post the original image that was causing the problem here and if it's not a smilie icon for you, they'd love to hear from you:
Let me know if you wanna help or go to the thread about it on Amazon:

If you are affected by this issue, please send an email to aws@amazon.com. I am actively monitoring this address looking for someone we can chat with in order to further diagnose and resolve. Thanks very much.
At Baldy's initiative, I have had an extended telephone discussion with Amazon, answered their questions, run a number of diagnostics as directed by them, and passed back various traceroutes and related data. They mentioned they had been thinking in terms of this being an issue related to corrupt data sitting in a couple of ISPs only, both at this end of the world.
That was yesterday. I think it would be fair to say they were still figuratively scratching their heads when we ended our dialogue, and I notice the problem is still present right now.

Ross, thanks for working with Amazon on this, we really appreciate it!

No problem Andy. I'm in no doubt they are treating this matter very seriously, and they will get to the bottom of it eventually. They have an open offer to get back to me if I can be of any further assistance.
what's with the long exposure street images?
On almost every dgrin page I see in FF, sprinkled throughout people's posts, the Smilies box, a reply, EVERYWHERE, I see this square image of a long exposure of a street. It's a fine image, but its seriously disturbing my dgrin experience. Right now, on the "Post new thread" page I see it three times in the smilies, and twice in the "post icons" box.
I have cleared my cache, so it's not that. Anyone else seeing this?

Thanks for your endeavours with this. It's obviously outside your direct control. BTW, my ISP is TelstraClear in case Amazon is interested to know.
Gus, are you with Telstra in Oz?
