ShootOut 06 Group Shots
Okay, I'll start...I make no claims to wonderfulness, only great keepsakes and a means of remembrance:
Mike Lane, Ann (me), Michiel de B, Nikolai,Jack (calfreerider), Virginia (Flyingina),Maxine (skippy), Nancy(nwilkins), Doug(kudbegud), Dave V., and Diana Lund.
And then slightly recomposed (where is the composer....):
Our vanload on the way to Vegas - in Valley of Fire:
Nancy, Bob Bell, Gary (dragon300zx), Ann, Nick(gluwater, Dean (cwphoto).
And finally, I love this shot but it seems way too yellow to me.....help?
David and Diana
Add on in here - I have some more too.

Great idea! Sorry I missed it. I suspect we will start seeing a bunch of people shots as folks get to them. Can't wait to see how goofy I look while focusing on some weird shot somewhere. :uhoh

Wonderful to have the photos Ann, especially with names. I love the picture of Dave and Diana. You should be able to fix it in RAW by adjusting the white balance. I did a quick and dirty on the jpg you posted by adjusting the hue to increase the blue and cyan (and thus reduce the yellow and red) and to add just a touch of magenta (which reduces the green). It needs more work than I gave it but with care and by working on the full file you will dget a much better result. Definitely a photo worth the time!! (Not that you don't have hundreds of others to play with. )

That is the best I can do in 10 minutes. It may be better than I would do in two hours, smile.
Looks like you all had a blast. I love the people shots, always have!!

Re the backgrounds, I am noticing that shooting those rocks can be more difficult than shooting Snowy Egrets. Those whites in the rocks are delicate, aren't they. With all the other color, the lighter areas.........I am sure they are not really blown in anyone's shots. Everyone on that trip is too good for that. But there is definitely a contrast thing going.
love the people though. Especially love the picture of Jack (two people in a raging stream).

If you are in any of these pictures and would like the originals as jpg or the CRW, just PM me and I'd be glad to send you them. Or if I am in any pictures you took I would like to get a copy if you are willing to let me have them. Thanks! I'm still going through them so I will probably have more to post here in the next couple of days so keep checking this thread.

Greaper - great shots - so you have evidence that andy did come out to play and wasn't simply guarding the cherry ripes!
Nick, this one is screaming to crop to the immediate left of Joe - not that there is anything wrong with Bob, or anything, just says 'three red hats, hands in pockets' to me.....
Bob Bell, Joe Farace, Dave, Mark
And this (despite my girth) is great - however, Dave was actually after my gear, not really worried about me hitting the canyon floor This was day 3 of hiking, and let me assure you my old knees had a rough time picking themselves, me and the bag back up.

Bob, love you to death, but a dangerous way to carry the camera. Fasteners fail, aren't tightened, etc. Crash!

These people shots are wonderful! This shot of Nick's is a "telling shot" for me. I was wondering how difficult the hiking would be. I'm in AWE of those who made it up to Angel's Landing! (How far and how long did it take???) That would have been too scary for me. :cry Oh, and thanks to those who are posting Smugmug I.D.'s as well as actual names for those of us who have never met them!!!!

Besides, it's not like it was a Zeiss anything, just a run-o-the-mill Canon "L" POS. (Never mind that it's an $1100 POS. ) Ah well, stuff happens.
At least it was capped and the legs were up a bit. I've seen guys run the sidelines at football games with the legs out and I'm just waiting for them to catch on something.

Please let me know if I have misidentified anyone and also, if you know who the mystery man is!!

I think it took about 6 hours total..but that included some rest stops and a good break at the top. The last half mile seemed like the longest. :uhoh

Va,
Great capture of the mess of tripods that we caused everywhere we went. I bet we attracted some attention, or dirty looks, one of the two. :uhoh

How do you know that I wasn't trying to give you a push?
I'll get a couple of shots in here, but I haven't "fixed" them yet.
I'll have them by the end of the weekend.
Basking in the shadows of yesterday's triumphs'.
I'd say one of the coolest families I've met.
I don't think I ever saw Connie or Missy without a smile, but an easy way to wipe the smile off of Eds face is to take him on a hike:nah. Is that a junior ranger badge on Connie in the second shot ?
