And who is to say you'd be rejected!!!

All those handsome men around for the 4 days, and me stag and all........ 'course, the real hunk, andy, was no where to be found......:D
I would agree that the Hughes' never stopped grinnin', and that overall we are quite a photogenic group!!!
Ran the pic of Dave and Diana through the auto color correct of PSP, and came up with this:
David your shots are really great. I love the one of Andy and the tree, Nikolai's show great perspective, and DavidTo, well...now we know how he got that awesome shot of his! But frankly, none can compare to your Titanic shot!!! That shot takes the prize!
Wow. I'm blushing, really. Thanks! And for the record, the Titanic shot isn't mine. I'm just the idiot doing the idiodic whatever I was doing. I was drunk with happiness over the great light we finally got after waiting out the evil clouds for an hour and a half. The mood was festive. Those that were there would understand. Either that, or someone spiked my Clif Bar.
Now I'm off to (try to) fix the white balance in Ann's shot of Diana and me...

People do all sorts of silly things. Doesn't mean they're to be emulated.
I've seen what can happen. With luck, it will never happen to anyone here.
Pick me to sid !!
...i run with the 400 on the camera whilst still on the tripod..climb over rocks...jump off stuff. All my gear is insured for anything these days but i still did it before i insured it for accidental (foolish) damage.

It's all in how much risk you can accept. I know some who are so afraid of scratching their cherished photographic tools, they are hardly ever used.
I had a close call at work when an older camera, and an older quick-release, finally wouldn't hold together. I was doing some product stuff, so the mount was vertical. Fortunately, I had the camera tied-off onto the tripod, and the tripod was heavy enough, I was able to catch the whole thing before it hit the ground. A new quick-release plate fixed the main problem, but I learned a valuable lesson.
I am now much more carefull with my own equipment as a result.
Which brings me to my point, would you tow a trailer without using safety chains? Of course not. So why not use a safety lanyard with the tripod and camera?
Looking at all of the shots, I'd say you all had a blast . Now we just need a dgrins outing in the old country (thats if it stops raining) or in the old world. How about a dgrinners meet out to Rome for a weekend, now that would be cool??

Harj I was just thinking the exact same thing! But England's got some great scenery too. North Wales with the rugged Snowdonia mountains and lakes, Scotland with mountains etc, Northumbria coastline, Norfolk Broads waterways, the Lake District - Lake Windermere etc, Cornwall, Devon & Somerset, Stonehenge, Avebury, all sorts of very photogrnic places.
I think the shots are great!

Nothing like that going on. I can get rejected without driving 2000 miles.
I have a couple of group shots, but they ain't that good.
Bryce in the morning.
Note: One person is dressed like it's summer, the rest like it's the middle of winter.
Oh, I know. Adam's from Minnesota.
A B&W shot at an evening shoot. A lot of chimping going on.

I dunno. That was certainly tricky lighting near the window.

Good stab, Daniel. If Diana and I ever go missing, the authorities will have many versions to choose from to put our picture on milk cartons.

Where's Rutt when you need him. I'm no expert, and this is a tricky one but here's my try.

Many of you may be unfamiliar with Dave Porter and his work. He was one of the pros there to help on the trip.
I asked him if it would be ok to provide a link to his site so that people could check out his work.
He responded today that it would be fine, so here it is.

And you may notice that Dave (and many others) wore sandals in the desert!!!!!
