I almost feel like I was there
I really enjoyed the people photos, and in scale with the scenery. It's so funny seeing a group of photographers fighting for the same area of "real estate" to shoot the same scene!
I think you had a lot of fun taking these people shots!

Glad you liked them.
Yeah, unlike the first time, we were not split into small groups. So it was more like sunrise shooting at the tunnel.
And yes, I like take people's pictures and this was at least the crowd that was not too much camera-shy
This was in fact an awesome place. Called Island In The Sky, Green River view, in Canyonlands, next to Moab, UT.
We were shooting sunset there. Skippy and I broke away from the pack and wandered over here:
See a little fella on the top of the drop-off on the very right? We were there. And, unlike AL, there was absolutely nothing there that would keep you away from a dozen or so seconds of a free fall...
Thanks for checking out!
Cheers!
I've got a pic of you and Skippy out there and will try to post it by this weekend. :

I'm sure you got a lot more than just pics of me and Skippy
Salut, mon ami!
Oh yeah... you're right about that, but only the two of you made it to that ledge!
Which reminds me... we *did* have a fatality in Yosemite this past weekend when a guy reportedly dropped his camera at Glacier Point and slipped trying to retrieve it (no joke! http://yosemiteexplorer.com/node/59). "Stuff" like that really does happen which keeps me weary of heights - as you very well know.
By the way, Andy and Smugmug, thanks again for the Shootout! It was a great location and so cool to get to meet so many of you! I can't wait 'til 2007! (has anything been announced yet!?)
And Nik, great Post-Shootout, too! Thanks for putting it together and to all our fellow travelers, I had a blast and hope you all did as well! I can't wait to see some of your shots and post some of my own pics from that segment of the trip!
