Excellent release today! Highlights include an all new bodyWrapper and additional classes for the input.buttons and input.smbuttons elements. That plus a plethora of themes. I'm sure there's more that I don't know about too. Lots of fun possibilities with this update :D

Thanks, Mike - for noticing, and posting :D

This one was a big deal, soooo many pages and themes. We're all a bit drained right now!

Huge props to BWG for the awesome buttons and other graphics clap.gif

    hmmm...
... and to think I thought my new control panel was just another weird bug from using Camino for my browser...

Seriously, nice update. And I'm glad to know the changes are intentional!

Some folks have been asking, "where's the new hotness?" Well, you WON'T see it right now, if you have ANY customization. Why? Because we have a new version of the site CSS, for this new default. If we changed everyone automatically, there's potential for power and pro customer's sites to change and / or break - their customizations - so we DON'T want to do that

So, for now, you can do like this:

add this reference to your head tag section

    (thanks devbobo for the link!)

At some point, we hope to have a button choice in your customization panel to let you choose the new hotness or the old.

That's a really quick and easy way to see how much it screws up my site.

Don't forget how stupid I am. BWG's original comment, Andy's reply--I have no idea what the implications are for either statement. I just smile, nod, and say, "uh huh".

Great update guys! I like the new buttons and the new "password protected" gallery icon too...

I addded the http://andydemo.smugmug.com/ css into my header to get the new stuff and it works for me. Is this going to be a permanent location for the new css or will it go pooooooof sometime?

    Thanks,
    Jeremy

Tell me if this is the wrong place to ask, but I went ahead and put in the line in Andy's post to get all the hotness on my site, and then I went through and removed all the elements that were messing it up. Success!

But one question: the keywords page has no customization at all. Web Dev doesn't even show the tab for it. Is that the way it has to be? No banner, no navbar, no nothing.

Okay, I give up! Can somebody please define the word "hotness" for me? Everybody on this forum appears to know what this word means but me. I feel like an idiot!

    ne_nau.gif

I even looked it up in Wikipedia! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hotness

Thank you! Then it seems to me that the title of that page should be "New Hotness - June 2, 2006".

I like to read the posts here to keep somewhat informed, but I admit half the time I don't know what y'all are talking about. Usually, I can figure it out. But in this case, you stumped me.

    Nice new look!

This might be kind of minor, but it doesn't look quite as good with white background as with black. I changed "PureSmugmugBlack" to "PureSmugmugWhite" in the hack Andy posted and tried it out. The issue is minor because it only affects the buttons I see as the logged in owner of the site. But the Tools, Customize, and Don't Feature buttons all show an outline larger than their contents which looks amateurish.

Actually, this might also be a problem with black background, but I didn't try that.

... I was hoping for a fix for the horrible "Make 2nd Copy" bug, but I can still reproduce. Any update on the status of this that you guys can share? Thanks.

Sorry, didn't mean to slight anyone's professionalism. Should have used a smiley. Mia Culpa!

Your page looks great to me, of course. As I said, the only problems are with buttons which only show up on one's own site if one is logged in. In particular the buttons for the "Tools" and the "Don't Feature" and "Customize". These show with an outline larger than their contents which doesn't look right (note the more accurate choice of words.)

I realized that a few pictures were probably worth a thousand words (especially now that nobody reads anymore.)

Here is my homepage, with the buttons that don't look right circled in red:

    Larger size image here.

Here is a selection from an even better example:
