Wow nice pictures the first and the last two are my favorite
Thanks for commenting Wolfies. That last shot was pretty exciting having that bird fly right over my head only a few feet above. Beautiful birds...and amazing pilots & fisherbirds.
As Harry mentions, those last 2 are definitely special I liked them all and was marveling at how many really nice shots you got. Those last two stunned me.
OK, Birdman, just caught this set! You, IMO, have done to Ospreys what someone else did to Eagles.
I can see no way to better what you have done. Personally, I could not even come close!
Great series, great set! A good Osprey season for you!
What is "in season" next?
ginger (I am mixing it up these days. Last night, I did a young peoples casual bar. No birds, though lots of parrot posters.........and some strange comments about it being 5:00 PM somewhere. Groupies, band, all young, they loved me.......would do anything for photos! (yeah, and I can't get an Osprey to give me the time of day!
These girls actually asked me if I posted on the Internet. That was new for me! Usually people are terrified that I might post on the INternet. The new generation. Love Em!
Thanks for looking and commenting Ginger. Mighty nice of you to say.
"In Season" ..well....you know when the birds are "doing" their thing and makin' babies. Next spring the osprey will start building up the nest again...doing the funky chicken or wild thang...and then chicks will appear...grow daily until they fly..then the parents will kick them out and they will move into my backyard.
I haven't been around in a while but this was certainly a treat. Made me reminisce of the day I came to visit and we went by boat to the nest(s). What a day that was!
Exceptional shots there, my friend. Are they all completely gone now or some still hanging around? You need that 400 or 500 so you can shoot from the bridge.
I am pleased to see this post brought up again; to be reminded of so many outstanding Osprey pictures, and to take a second opportunity to compliment your work. I also looked at your galleries, and was rewarded with an excellent sample of your photographs. Congratulations Mike.

I'll say....thought maybe one of the locals at Gatorland took you for lunch. Good to see you and thanks for the kind words, Kevin. Much appreciated.
That trip out to the nests was a great time. Hope to do it again in the near future. I have not been out to the nests in over a month....so I'm not sure if any of the young are still at the nest. Can't get the boat out with the canal dredge that is going on at the moment. Throw in the daily thunder storms and I've not shot much of anything of late. The last couple times I visited the nests it was very slow. All the juveniles were flying and not much action at the nest.
You better buy that 400mm before you come back.....so I can borrow it

Thanks for stopping back and the kind comments, William. Coming from such an accomplished birder as yourself, that means a great deal to me. Looking forward to your return visit to Florida and shooting together.
