Actually, you know what, in most commonwealth nations(Nations which were once under the british empire) and in many non-commonwealth non english speaking nations, the language of choice on the internet is english. Most countries which have migrated from english are either the far east ones, or the ones like Spain/Germany etc., where the language is different but the script is english like.
Let me get this straight: English is the language of the internet in Commonwealth countries like Australia, New Zealand, Canada and South Africa?

    Wow.

BTW, anyone know of a good film discussion forum?

I registered at IMBD and I'm keeping an eye on JoBlo's. Rotten Tomatoes wants too much personal info to register.

Just looking for thoughtful discussions of current and classic fillums.

we should have a "movie talk" thread, maybe even a "tv talk" thread too.

I'm not on any film type mb's but I do talk a lot on other mb's about movies and stuff in designated movie talk type threads. Its not a whole forum, but you can at least talk about movies and whatnot and recommend movies and stuff to your friends.

    ne_nau.gif

I watch a lot of tv too...entourage, deadwood for example, thats why I recommended the tv talk one.

I agree, I like to talk about movies, without going overboard about it. Dunno if there are enough interested folks here to make it work, tho. ne_nau.gif

I say we do it! Everybody watches movies now and then, even if you're not big into them. Its always nice to find a suggestion for a good movie or to hear about whats coming up.

If you have Itunes, you might like 'Mark Kermode's film reviews' which is a podcast you can subscribe to. It's taken from a Friday afternoon BBC radio show and it's very popular, he's quite a character and his reviews are always spot on.

How can you not have iTunes? I mean, you just bought a MacBook. It's in there. Did you delete it?

Also, as far as film discussion, all that I've seen is fan-boy BS.

I don't use it. I have about 100 CDs and a player at my elbow at home, only play them infrequently. I don't habitually listen to music, it's annoying and an energy drain. I pick my monents.

K, not to belabor the point, but you have iTunes, and you could listen to the podcast mentioned above.
