Sorry but I nailed some kingfisher shots (they will be posted in a few days) this afternoon along with some caracaras (another bird you're missing :lol4)

also a kingfisher is a little bit on the tiny side, not majestic like

Yes, and if I can just get my lazy ass over to Sycamore Canyon Wilderness (north of Cottonwood), I could get some baldy shots too! :twitch

Thanks much Skippy. This is a wonderful area for wildlife shooting. We also have gators all over the place. Very often our traffic has to stop and wait because the sandhill cranes are crosssing the road.

I really like the reflection shots in your first post Harry -it looks deceptively simple, but I know it's not and you really nailed every one of those images!!! bowdown.gif

[quote=Its a lot quiter and slower than the rookery which is good right now. I've finished viewing the Reznick's DVDs and I picked up some ideas I've want to try and the slower paces is good for that.[/quote]

Very nice captures. I particularly like your work with reflections. The off-set of the Egret shows thoughtful composition (instead of the usual centering, a habit I am trying to shake), and the pic of the full-wing-span reflection is dead on. Your mastery of your Nikon and its lenses provides us amateurs with an excellent model to emulate. I always look at the exif info and then compare it with pictures I have taken. Very helpful for learning. Good work, Harry.

Thank you very much. I was applying some of the stuff that Ron Reznick had covered in his DVDs and his ideas are very effective for my kind of shooting.

Thanks for the kind words Gil. I've been taking less shots lately than I did in the past. I'm working harder now on my comp and lighting than in the past. So far I'm liking the results I'm getting.
