Bug making Red Bubbles

i wonder what this bug was exactly doing it was making bubles i thought it is eating lolly pop until buble was burst

I can't help but wonder why the bubble is RED ???
Images I have seen others post the bubble are always either clear or a slight discolouration to them but your's is the first RED bubble I have seen.

no clue i saw it was burst and then it started to blow another until lens hit the leaf and bug flew away

Until my dad's cam is in my hands : i will do macro
Yeah i have seen transparent or white bubles i was shocked when i saw a red

My guess would be whatever the fly had been feasting on was red, like berries etc, and I figure like cows they bring it back up and start feasting on it again Im just guessing....... Skippy (Australia)

Great shot Awais- your first bubble-blowing fly. It's not a bubble but a drop of liquid from the flies stomach. They quite frequently do this- blow the drop on the end of their tongue and then suck it back in again then blow it out again- supposed to aid digestion. I've seen dark coffee coloured ones before but not red. As Skippy suggested must be something to do with what they last ate.
