He's Baaaack!!!
Hi y'all,
I went back to the Viera Wetlands the other day (and I drove much more carefully).
I was just getting out of my car to set up when this shadow appeared on the ground. I said "I know that shadow". I grabbed my D2X which had the 500mm and 1.4 TC attached. I didn't have time to get the tripod set-up so these were shot handheld.

Well it would have been better if that dang eagle could have waited for me to set-up the tripod. None of these shots are the sharpest and I had to take around 40-50 shots to get 5 semi-decent ones. But its a lot better than no eagle shots.

Beautiful images - these birds carry just a little more grandeur than others in the warm sunset light.

Thanks Swartzy. In ron Reznick's DVDs he tells you to know your limitations and to know how many shots you need to take under certain comditions in order to get one good shot. I figured I had a 1 in 8 chance here so I took around 40 shots to get this handful of decent shots.
