I think they are great shots! There is no way I could have hand held my camera, and gotten images as good as these. Well done.

Glad the eagle(s) are back. <img src="https://us.v-cdn.net/6029383/emoji/clap.gif" border="0" alt="" > You becareful liftin that lens like that. You're no spring chicken anymore. <img src="https://us.v-cdn.net/6029383/emoji/rolleyes1.gif" border="0" alt="" > Do you know if the birds are back at the secret place ? I might have to give big brother Jimmy a call and visit. Not bad for hand held 500mm. If you had a Canon you could have cranked that ISO to 1600 and used a super high shutter speed. <img src="https://us.v-cdn.net/6029383/emoji/eek7.gif" border="0" alt="" > :D <runs off and hides>

It's not easy using that 500 handheld and I don't recommend it. There just was no other way.

Haven't a clue on that eagle spot. As for cranking up the ISO my shutter speeds ranged from 1/1000 sec to 1/3000 sec. How fast would you suggest? :D

Great shots Harry, Even better that they were hand held. Kinda like shooting a rifle, tuck in the arms, take a deep breath, release slowly and squeeze the shutter gently. Nice captures.
Have a great day!

Who said I was "nice", that's an unfair attack on my rep. :pissed.

I know you've seen pictures but you both are getting up there in age and I'm not really confident of your short term memories. :lol4

Thanks Orv, shooting an M-16 was a lot easier than shooting the 500mm though.
