This is my Daily shot for tomorrow, so I thought I would put it here, too. I took it tonight 12/23 at the mall. The carriages have always been downtown, but I guess with progress comes strange changes! It was pretty, and free.
Probably the mall is paying for it. I took many photos of the Charleston area this year, more than usual anyway. This is the addy to the Gallery of the photos I would call Christmas in Charleston. 2 pages. smugmug
I shot it on Friday. Had gone to the doctor for antibiotics and stuff. So, I was out, my camera was with me, I couldn't resist. I asked my husband to take me places where I didn't have to do much walking which would have been impossible.
Then yesterday, I went to another spot.
Today, I have complete laryngitis, still sick, so I stayed home and worked up some of my "haul". This was worked up right after I took it on Friday, I saved it for tonight.
Merry Christmas!!

Oh, this was with my 30D Canon, 400mm lens, 800 ISO (gloomy out, expected bird to fly, plus I was not as steady as usual, smile). F5.6
It's a little difficult getting in the holiday spirit here in Florida.....with the weather sunny and 80* for the last week. We are overcast and rainy today, though. Now...if it would just drop some 50* or so.

Since this is a free-form assignment, I'm trying not to comment much on it, but THIS is hilarious :-) You must've spent quite some time on pp, with all those reflections and all:-)
Yeah, but it's simply me being me, i.e. lazy :-):D
And, as the result, I didn't get anything even closely resembling the stunning shots you've got
Well mine were a bit difficult. There were hundreds of people at the Temple on x-mas eve. It tested my patience to wait until people moved and to be nice to all the missionaries that approached me.
Then I find out they had a special night for photographers- figures! I am pretty happy with what I got, thanks for the positive reinforcement.
Heading North in a few hours. Prescott AZ Courthouse and the Grand Canyon. Followed up by Santa Land Theme Park and a college bowl game- maybe two. And this is suppose to be vacation!?

Christmas in Los Angeles Happy New Year Everyone !!! This was taken in my neighborhood near Larchmont. Every year the Youngwood Estates puts up a new year with Mr and Mrs Santa and all the David statues with their little hats.Fake snow, music and lights. Believe it or not , i had read that the neighbors actually tried to take him to court over his taste in decorations !!!. I think it's fabulous..... and he won.
Having been released from much of my high ISO fear through encouragment from DGrin members (thank you very much!), I had fun getting these zoo lights pictures...

OK, here's my contribution....the local fire department hauls Santa through the neighborhood's major streets (remote fairly rural area) blaring the sirens on the trucks...if you hear the sirens, come on down and meet Santa.
I got lucky and they stopped two doors away from my place. This was taken from the balcony railing of my cabin the day after this thread started (I'm behind in my reading apparently).
