OOPS! Still getting the hang of this forum, Max file sizes and such. Please be patient with me.
You made your first picture post a good one Albert.

Hey everyone. I figure seeing as I was at MI4 I should prolly participate before this is over with. I have been home a month and haven't even been through half my shots (real job plus been doing some portrait sessions that need to be done in a timely manor) so these are only what I have been through so far. But here it goes.
Good to finally see some pics from MI4, Gary. Nice set. I was starting to wonder if you really had a memory card in that camera.
I have tons more too, some already on the wall in my office, just wanna find time to finish processing them all. Then I can start some serious posting.
Well I'm off to St Croix. I'll be back on the 14th. I'll leave you with some shots from the MI IV shoot.

underexpose whites. Center point focus and underexpose. Forget everything else in the scene.
Go get yourself a Great White Egret, in the sun, and put the exposure at minus 1 (-1) EC (that is on a Canon, but I am sure a Nikon could equate somewhere).
If it is a Snowy Egret, rather than a Great White EGret, Snowy egrets need to be UNDEREXPOSED even more by one or two clicks.
I know, I know, I am not known as an expert at this, but try it. Your egrets will be fine. (I am not talking about other birds for which the exposure is different, nor am I talking about slightly diff situations, such as flying over where the belly is in the shade, or being in the shade, or backlit). I am just saying to go get an easy to do white egret in the sun, try -1 in exposure, or whatever the equivalent is in your camera.
I, too, have far too many egrets......................
That is just the easy way, starting in baby steps, so you can get the hang of underexposing white egrets..............then in a couple of years, you might want to try fooling with how much to under expose depending on the situation.
Snowy Egret here. I found the exif, but not the EC, however, it has to be
-1 plus a couple clicks, or at least minus 1, but just minus one usually leads to blinkies in these super white birds.
i just like feathers...........so this shot got me where I live,

Egrets are playing hard to get nowadays that they have such a big playground at bolsa.
