A few rookery close-ups
Hi Y'all,
One of the unique opportunities afforded by the rookery is the ability to get in real close on your subjects

I've run out of adjectives when it comes to describing your work.
So if you can leave this big mouth speechless.................................

Looking that the feathers, if it is a vulture it is one of the prettiest of feathers and the ugliest of heads. Or it is a pterodactly or perhaps some of Jim Henson's Muppets escaped the studio.

Hey Tom,
The afternoon light is by far the best. They let the photographers stay until 7 PM (2 hours after the park closing time) to shoot. I will be going back there Thursday to shoot in the PM and I'm staying over and will shoot in the morning light on Friday.
So far I haven't thought about the contest yet. None of my shots really stand out as contest material to me yet.

Hmmm, brownies, I used to make brownies. I didn't follow the prescribed recipe of one ounce of per package but used two ounces. The brownies came out a tad green and tasted awful and you had to sit down to eat it because you weren't getting up for a while. :ivar

I just gotta come down there to shoot the rookery sometime.
Getting closeups like that must just be so exciting.

Thanks Ann, the combo of good light, amazing breeding colors, and close proximity to your subjects can't be beat.
