Ye bikers, ye classic car lovers, ye kitchn knife gods - gather 'round and bring your cameras! We're shooting chrome!
Well, stainless steel, or any other shiny polished metallic surface would qualify, too.:deal
Your "chrome" object should be a primary subject of the frame. Classic car shows are definitely the easiest game in town, but if you look around, you can find plenty other shiny metallic stuff.
One of the caveats: try to avoid catching your own reflection. One way to do it is to find a vantage point where your own refelection coinsides with a heavily curved surface, thus making it virtually undetectable. And if push comes to shove - PS to the resque! :wink
Nice "sun star" or two is an extra credit.
As usual: fresh pictures, moderate post-processing.
For the rest of the basic rules and index please check out this sticky.
Let's get some chrome! :-) :wink

Nikolai, may be you are going to say that the 1.st photo is too Photoshoped. But I think it is very nice.
Cars are easy to shoot.:D
Please, click on photos for a better view. Thank you.
..........
No, I won't say that.
Instead I'm going to say that I would really prefer one nice picture of "chrome" to six pictures of "glass".
Kodak Moment.
(The shiny bit on the camera is probably nickel plate rather than chrome - so not that shiny really.)
Jaguar Bonnet (Hood) Mascot.
Jaguar Bonnet (Hood) Masoct 2
This is an original early '50s mascot, straight from the factory (thanks, grandpa).
Now I just need the XK to sit under it!

Nice entries, thanks! Last one hits the sweetspot!
What can I do if the chromes are inside the glass and I can't take them out ?
Nice entries, thanks!

Great entry!
Cool entries, thanks! I especially love the first one, great brass coloring...!
Thanks Nikolai. Glad I had something to contribute. Always liked this pic but it never seemed to fit in anywhere until I saw this thread.

I like this one a lot. Although the lush in me is whispering that that doesn't look like a liquor bottle in the background, and I really hope you didn't spill good booze on purpose.

on all accounts
Quite right - it is only water in the measure, otherwise I'd be wringing out the backing paper after the shoot!
Glad you like it.
Matthew
PS - Scotch version (the drink looks a bit pale, probably because of the strong side-lighting. Glenmorangie isn't very dark to start with, though - Lagavulin might be a better subject.) This image is also probably more suited to the 'Reflections' assignment than chrome!
