Chloe was a great subject
Well I had some fun with this one. I decided to use my Newfoundland Chloe as the subject. I messed around with lighting, angles, flash curtains... pretty much all the stuff that I learned that my camera could do to try and get some cool shots. Some came out better then others.
I think I might go back in and touch this one up in Photoshop a little later but I like the composition and the fact that Chloe is not all black.
The rest of the shots are in This Gallery There will be a total of 19 once they are done uploading. I figure I learn more from my less expected shots then I do from the ones that turned out perfect.

Glad you had a nice workout! Good profile!
I only wish the background wasn't so distracting. That chair leg growing right from her nose..
Thanks. What is odd is that I did not even notice the chair. A fresh perspective helps.
It's a well-known pure psychological issue. Human vision is task oriented. We concentrate so much on the "important" things, that we literally don't see the rest. But the camera, it does not care, it records everything.
These are from another track event this past weekend. Also these are all straight out of the camera, with no post processing (yet....).
Classic lines, at speed...
Tried getting even closer shots, but was tough getting a clear image at the desired shutter speed, with a 100-400MM handheld.
This is my son, who can't stop grinning (his first track event )
And would this group of spectators qualify?

Hey, I'll take pics for cookies !
I went to see our neighbor's grandson and thought it would be a perfect time to get a profile. I never got a decent one of the baby though. But, I did manage this one.

Unfortunately it's not a perfect profile. Close, very close, but no cigar...
Profile is profile, with or without cigar
BTW - theme is Profile, not Perfect 100% Genuine 90 degree Profile

We're trying to get that last one .
If you do - you get a cookie. If you don't, well, at least you tried..

Wish the dog was in profile too.

Thank you!
It's just a little bit off to be a 100% perfect profile, but it will do:-)
Thank you!
Perfect profile, I only wish the background was less busy...
So do I, Nik, so do I... (sigh) off to try some more...
